Hello all, I am moving to Colorado Springs next month and here is my '78 FJ40. I found sitting in a barn in Louisiana for about 8 years until i bought it in 98'. Its been there at my dads since i graduated hs in 2000. This pic was taken a few weeks ago right before it was driven 400 miles back to dallas. At 50mph and 15.5 mpg i managed to turn a six hour drive into a ten. This is the only pic i have of it while I'm here at work. Just about all original minus wheels, tires, paint, etc.

Future plans include: engine rebuild, stock wheels(back on), 2.5 ome, 33's, lockers, saginaw ps, and what ever else to make an even more solid all around rig.

See you next month, Travis

Hey guys, I am new to the world of LC's and just picked up my 96 LX450 with lockers last Friday. Drove it home from New Mexico and did surprisingly well. The modding bug has already started as i have been reading alot on this site over the last few months. Got an OME lift coming at the beginning of next week and plan to do some other things in the future depending on the money situation. Hope to do an ARB front, some kind of rear, not sure, and sliders. Thats really pretty much it or so i say now :D.

I have been reading about some of the runs you guys do and would love to join you sometime. Need to take care of a few baseline things with the truck 1st but hope to have that done in the next week or so. Look forward to meeting some of you guys.

Nice job picking a rig! You really can't go wrong with any Land Cruiser, but the 80 series/LX450 is a particularly good choice. I see you live in Centennial, have you checked into risingsun4x4club.org? I bet you have a few members in your town. We have a few runs up near Denver on the list this year, hope to see you out.

P.S. why not post some pictures and info on that 40 you have for sale in the for sale thread? Most of us are Toyota addicts and can't resist an old derelict 4x4 :)

Thanks. I have checked out rising sun and poked around there a little. Ill check out when they have some runs going on. Wouldn't mind making it down to the springs sometime too.

I posted the 40 in the for sale section. Its pretty much sold. Just waiting on the money to come, should be tomorrow or Friday. Proffits Cruisers bought it. Good guys there and good prices on stuff. Highly recommended.

Now i just need to sell the FJ Cruiser and will be almost done selling the goods. The FJ and a sport quad and then i can continue with the LX. That was the deal with the :princess:

Hello everyone my name is Stacey and go by the nickname Smalls. I just moved he from NC and would like to joint your club also have ton of question on how to pass the emissions with no smog and also pointed in the direction to a good mechanic. I am handy and pretty good at fixing my FJ but sometimes need some direction. BTW I own a 1976 FJ40. Hope to meet everyone soon. Also the assure is down so how can I join and pay my dues? :0)

Hi Smalls,

Just come by the next club meeting.

It will be at Bear Creek Park on June 21st. The meeting officially starts at 7pm but some people will be there around 6pm to grill some food.

As for emissions testing you don't need to worry about it unless you live in one of the counties listed here.

Sweet thanks guys. Right now I'm up north with family but looking for a place to rent the first year in the springs. Are the springs just one county? As for the meeting I'll be there what should I bring food wise?

No food necessary. Most of the springs is in El Paso county. Out west on hwy 24 you get into Woodland Park and Divide, that is Teller county. It's a far superior place to live :)

I think people should believe Teller county is a lousy place to live.
