You don't need to get crazy on the trail and break something. You can take it easy and watch someone else break something if you prefer.
Having rigs with different levels of modifications and watching them function on the trail is fun to see.
By the way a stock FJ80 is a very capable trail rig.

I'll chime in with Leon and Chuck--My first couple of runs with the group were with a 100% stock (and badly sagging) FJ60 and we had a great time. I'm all about the trails and less about the crawling.
Checking in as a new member to mud. My name is Steve. I retired from the Navy in 2004 and moved to Colorado Springs. Just acquired my wife's Grandfathers 1967 FJ40 that was used on a dairy farm in California during the 70's and 80's. Her uncle has owned it for the past 15 years and it has since landed in my garage. Looking forward to the tech discussions on the forum and possibly meeting up with some of you.
Beautiful 40--still have the stock engine?
Bone stock (F135) minus the wheels. Everything on the vehicle works after many many hours of sweat and countless beers. She doesn't go very fast but she'll climb the side of a building. Still have some tweaking to do but I think that goes without saying on all these machines.

Whats up guys? I've been on the forum since August, just picked up an 86 FJ60 last week. It was basicly a gift from a Vietnam Veteran. All the smog equipment was going out so I started to desmog it this weekend. I just have the EGR left to deal with. I'd be interested in coming to a meet when you have one. I could definately use some advice. Here's a pic.
Nice looking truck--I've done the de-smog on my 83 and might be able to help you out if you have questions (if only to tell you not to do the dumb crap I did)

Hi, someone left a Colorado Land Cruisers card on the windshield of my wife's 4Runner yesterday while she was on Fort Carson. So here we are. She drives her 2003 4Runner and I have a 2001 Tacoma. Both have been modified (mine a little more than hers). I don't know where she hid the camera but I will try to post up a picture of them later on.

Hey! That was me that left the card. Very nice 4runner. I checked out your front bumper for a while, Looks very tough. If your Tacoma is more modified than that, I can't wait to see it.

I am DROOLING over the Taco! You want to sell that thing? Lol, Anyone that has two Toyota's is O.K. in my book. I'm officially an addict with three, and I wheel every weekend, so let me know if you want to get out. Thanks guys. I still have a lot of work to do on it, body work and some more armor, mainly. I also want either a crawlbox or just some aftermarket t-case with lower gears for it. And I think it is way too tall, I'd like to lower it a few inches so it's not so scary, lol. But it's came a long way since when I bought it.
