@AWOLDoc thanks for the comprehensive parts list with links. This will definitely help in the future should fuel pumps, etc take a sh*t after (hopefully a lot of) use.

To bring the thread home, I took the pilgrimage back to THC for my issue. Teddy and the fellas (good name for a band btw) got to the root of the problem in short order. Communication was quick, detailed, and relevant. My LRA tank is now working like it should and my check engine light is gone. In an era of competence dropping everywhere you look, customer service being neutered, and companies trying their best to hide behind layers of canned replies, Trollhole cruisers actually has the confidence to stand behind their work. If you're ever in need of any sort of maintenance, restoration, baselining, or cruiser work of any sort I would recommend Trollhole @Trollhole cruisers without reservation.

@Pip Bernadotte @Hokie LX @OB-1 Thanks again for the recommendation, gents!

I was having a similar issue with my LRA gauge for the 25 gallon tank that was installed by MLO for my 1993 HDJ81VXL. The sending unit was bad and MLO installed a new one from LRA who also sent me a new gauge. LRA was very helpful. MLO installed the new sending unit which still didn't solve the problem even through they said it worked fine for them.
I talked to LRA again who said the sending unit was likely not properly installed.
I bit the bullet and decided to do the job myself. Drained and dropped the LRA tank, removed the sending unit after checking all the wiring to make sure everything was connected correctly. I put in one of these:

REPLACEMENT Tanks Inc. Floatless Fuel Sending Unit $124.95
0-90 ohm (find out correct tank depth)
Floatless Fuel Sending Unit - https://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=346/category_id=184/mode=prod/prd346.htm
Works as it should now and I have an extra gauge sitting on the shelf if I ever need it.:banana: :banana:job for me because I don't have a lift or dedicated garage space. Took a weekend to do and the only issue was getting the tank back in position to bolt back up which I used a piece of wood, ratchet straps and a floor jack to get it in position.

I sent the information to LRA who said they would look at this sending unit as a replacement/upgrade in the future for those who want it.
Do you recall the sender length? Was it a straight bolt in replacement for the LRA sender?

I thought I had a picture of the tank being measured, but I don't. I don't remember the length. I wouldn't trust someone else's measurement because there may be slight variations in tank depth, and you have to be within 1/8" of the bottom for the measurement so the sending unit will fit properly.
It's a direct bolt-in replacement with a new gasket, making it relatively easy to install. Make sure you get the 0-90 ohm.

OK thanks. Definately like to have the replacement on hand before dropping the tank. No bill, invoice number or the old unit hanging around?

The old sending unit was a swing arm type, which was replaced with this new one. I looked through the emails and receipts I had saved, but couldn't find the length. The sending unit was delivered in just a few days, so it wasn't down that long. It's really important to have the correct length for the sending unit. Too long and it won't fit because it will hit the bottom of the tank and not bolt up. Too short, and it won't read correctly because the bottom of the sending unit has to be 1/8" off the bottom of the tank.
I wanted the same as you and reached out to LRA for the tank depth. I got the same advice I am giving you. I bit the bullet and measured it after I dropped the tank. I also saw the wiring connection on the old sending unit and replaced it with better connectors. It's worth the time.

I'm working with Main Line Overland (Pennsylvania) right now, they have some great looking builds on Facebook but their communication is garbage. I'm trying to get a decent amount of work done on my LC200 and so far I'm about to be in the hole $12k in labor for 5 full days of work. I couldn't find anyone within a reasonable drive that was willing to do a lift kit install on my LC200. I'm currently trying to get an invoice of all the work they are going to do with a breakdown of charges.

12k seems excessive

Seems? That's a whole truck.

Yeah...... I've asked for a breakdown of the cost and somehow it keeps getting ignored. I'm getting a bit annoyed.
