Mac tools...

So I am an apprentice and am able to make a one time purchase on any Mac tools for about 50% off the truck prices. Any cool tools you guys can think of that I should consider?

Maybe some being cruiser specific?

Well what do you have? 1/2 sockets up to say 36mm. Hub socket. Roto head and flex head ratchets. Torque wrenches. Pick sets. Massive breaker bar. 1/2 and 3/8 cordless impacts. 3/8 1/2 air impacts. Wobbly impact sockets. Full impact adapters 1/2 to 3/8 and such including the 3/4 and 1 inch crap, line wrenches, angle wrenches, crowsfeet, inch pounds dial torque wrench, dial indicator, flush cuts, electrical combo pliers, punch set, brass punches, brass punches for air hammer, seal driver set, seal puller, obstruction wrenches, snap ring plier set, screw gun, trim tab puller tool deal, angled die grinder, razer scraper, Pullers, ratchet wrenches, magnetic parts trays, socket holders, torque adapters, heel bars, hex stuff, drill bits, dead blows, brass hammer, hammers, extractor set, tap and die set

Sorry I should have been more clear, I have most things already...but there might be some Mac tools that one might own that they really like compared to other brands? I was thinking maybe the 1/2 or 3/8 flex head ratchets, but I don't like the fact that theirs don't lock...big pry bar, terminal cleaning tools, maybe some pullers...

Not sure if their tap and dies are HSS, but if they don't say on them they usually aren't because they are embarrassed...will look into that,.I have a few snap-on taps that are not HSS but were cheap enough...Will take a look at the torque wrenches, was looking at them briefly the other day. Dial torque wrenches are a good idea too.

Anyone have a certain Mac tool they can't live without?

Extremely handy puller, I've used mine many times. Best tool ever for pulling those axle seals out of the front knuckles, behind the Birfield.

if you can get a large discount why not go for some of the more comprehensive tool sets/kits, rather than just one single item. Tools are $$, you might as well max your buying power...unless you have most of the stuff you need.

I hear what you are saying...I have most tools already so just looking for odds and ends. I might look into some puller sets and that sort of thing. I have over a year to decide still, going to have to get on the truck, looking online is no fun!

My last day of tech school I bought a mac tool box and a snap on Toyota apprentice tool set for 50% off. 3000 back in 2003. Just traded my box in a month ago on a bigger one for 200 less than I paid for it. Definitely a great time to build a base of tools.

tool box and get bigger than you think youll need, it fills up fast. volt meter, I have the em710 and its on par with all the fluke stuff. theres also a current clamp that works with the meter, worth while to get.
