Looks terrific--how does it drive? If the electric motor assist is anything like my Ferrari 296, hold on brother!
Amazing! Shocked at the responsiveness of the engine in sport on the highway. The hybrid drivetrain is a game changer.

Any complaint I had on the GX is gone in the LX

Congrats Nate! Can I take it on a test drive???
Absolutely!

I'm going to try to be in Moab during the CruiseMoab event; being respectful not to crash the party.

1100 miles in on the LX7;

A couple thoughts.

  • Wow, it's a lot quicker than I expected. The hybrid drivetrain is great!
  • AHC is king.
  • The third row feels funky and reduces cargo space more than I like. I will proceed with removing it in the next month or so.
  • The fuel is a bit too small for my liking for my long haul litmus test drive: Wichita, KS to Colby, KS with a 40mph headwind. I arrived at my target fill station right on E. That said, I've had the exact same experience in my 200 as well. Average MPG from Wichita to Colby was 18MPG. Average MPG from Colby to Denver was 19MPG. Average speed was 78MPH.
    • I will be proceeding with the fuel tank upgrade in the next six months.
  • The Skid Plate appears to be 3/16" thick! Lexus actually put a real skid plate on!

Said it before and I’ll say it again…..If I ever drop 6 figures on a car it will say 911 on it.
That was my mantra; at least until the GT cars skyrocketed north of 200!

Wait a little longer and you'll be dropping that on a Camry
Apparently, we will all have to accept that because of "the inflation" and the then $100ks will be equivalent to $80ks in the not-so-distant past. It is music to car manufacturers ears. I insist, no matter these economy-related arguments, there is no way I am crossing that threshold. Not before I see the same type of gains in my pocket.

That's disappointing about the 3rd row @Oakleyguy with a family of 7 3rd row has to be functional. 1100 miles already, wow, enjoy!
It's definitely functional, but cargo capacity is quite small while they are in use. A hitch carrier or roof rack pod will be important with all 7 seats in use!

Mine is Earth with Black interior; 7 seater.

I wanted the 2 row variant, but the regional distributor stated Lexus wasn't going to build those until late 2025 or 2026. So instead I'm going to delete the third row (which is only four bolts) and I'll post up about my experience on it here. I haven't pinned down the part numbers yet for the 2 row cargo deck, but I'll worry about that once the truck has arrived. I would have liked the Stone Brown interior as well, but I'm okay with black.

I agree with @Specialeyes this will be a very low volume truck so I doubt there will be remotely the amount of fan fair as the GX. If I recall correctly, Lexus sold about 32,000 GX550s in 2024 and 6,000 LXs.
Let me know if you find out the part number for the bracket which goes over the battery for the flat deck. I got mine a couple of weeks ago and removing the third row is more involved. Glad to share more experience if the group is interested. The seat bracket under the third row still adds about 1.5 inches extra height.

The two row production is planned for late 2025/early 2026. So it's a ways off.

I will be converting my three row truck to a two row and will document the process. It's about six bolts to remove the seat assembly, probably less than an hour to pull it completely out from my research in the repair manual. The biggest hurtle right now will be waiting for the parts diagrams to be posted in order to get the 2-row parts.

Here's a clear view of the 2 row (Starts at 8:58):

I pulled the third row from my 700h Overtrail. I would like to find the bracket for over the battery of the two row or I may need to fabricate something. The base under the third row still adds about 1.5 inches height which is wasted. On the positive side the two row has a box which fills the food well of the third row. I plan to use that space for an on board compressor, tool storage and recovery gear storage.View attachment 3862930
My buddy Nick texted me he ran into you yesterday!

Once the parts catalogs update we should be able to pull the part number for the subfloor assembly. Once I find it, I'll certainly share. Until then I have a couple other idea to either mount my drawers or make a new platform.

It was great to meet Nick. I would really like to talk so we can share ideas. I think we have the same objectives for the back of the Overtrail.
