Doesn't matter. We knew that already.

its going to be a b*tch building front and rear bumper for that thing :grinpimp:

You mean, there is actually a vehicle in between those bumpers? All I can see are bumpers. ;)

We need an official term - Overbumpering

Also: With the same exact W/B I'll bet the suspension is the same? IFS w'torsion bars and SRA?

The Lexus press release stated "upgraded powertrain mated to a new chassis and suspension system."

I agree with Shotts - this is a "ladies" car.

This vehicle seems like a compromise between the "same old LX" and the lack of a Lexus version Sequoia. Spoiled soccer moms love their Denali's and Navigators. The spoiled soccer dads like their comfy Land/Range Rovers with all the gadgets. This is niche marketing at its best. Many of you compare it to a RAV4, but I see Highlander, which is clearly marketed to females (same as the Subaru Forester). Power everything like the Range Rovers. The seats look to be removeable, but the power bases are not and take up a load of space. 4 more inches in the rear gives room for the 3rd row to have kids in it and still have room for the hockey bags, lawn chairs and cooler.

IMHO Toyota did not prioritize off-road with this vehicle. They are going mainstream with the stats and designing an overbuilt on-road beast to compete with the big American iron.

Well that was a load....maybe I need a 570?

This is actually an interesting point

Wonder what Toyota US is going to do?

Have the LX for the lux guys and the Sequia for Toyota folsk on a cheaper platform, drop the LC as they have a big SUV now and lackluster sales of the LC? Only have the FJC to continue the Cruiser name in the US?

I don't see how they will justify having both a Sequoia and LC in the line up, with the LX filling the high end. Especially given the poor sales of the LC since the introduction of the Sequoia in 01.

As initially unimpressed I was with the new XL , I must admit it looks to be much better looking than the MB GL450 or whatever they call it. That however isn't saying very much. I guess the verdict will have to be out until the new "XL"/LC actually hits the streets. As usual though, the Range Rover at least "looks" the best of all the high end SUV's.... IMO

hey isnt that a bad sopt for all those levers (right near the cup holder and then they put the blind spot camera button on the dash which requires the whole body to move to reach it? bad design inmho:doh:

not sure if i posted this already but that is a bad design placement for the lever controls right by the cup holder and within easy reach (by accident); then the blind spot camera which shuld be on the wheel; is located on the dash which would require you to reach for it. does anyone else find that an odd placement?

Of the levers, I don't see the AHC controls to be a problem. The Hi/Lo has a safety lock. Only the crawl switch might be a problem. Other than that I really like the interior including the "generic" instrument cluster. I especially like the +/- gear shifter.

too bad the high low shifter is a thing of the past, really makes the LC unique, but no more.

I found this this morning

The inside looks rather good. At least when you are driving it ,you can not see what the exterior looks like !! Those control switches in front of the cup holders are just asking for trouble though...
