hello i agree with the rav 4 looking thing but that engine 380hp hey sincity did you test drive the tundra with the new engine all the ones over here have the 4.7 still

I hope I don't get jumped here.......here goes:

Do you think the 570 looks like a "ladies car"? I see it that way.

That was why I commented about the lack of wheel wells like on the 100 or 80 that give it masculine lines.

Here's the press release article:

Note that the 2nd and 3rd row seats are now power w/ airbags, implying they are NOT removeable!! So to get the same luggage space as on a 100 w/o 3rd row seats (and I bet very few of us use the 3rd row seats), you'd have to make the interior more like 3 feet longer, not a measily 4 inches! The AHC also lowers the vehicle at highway speed and lifts it 3" in low xfer mode. The crawl cruise control offroad sounds lame...just less control you have over the vehicle. Hp/torque-wise, I think one can do similarly w/ the 2UZ w/ avo turbo.

generic...

I always hate the new designs from Toyota at first, but then end up liking them as time goes by. That's what happend to me with the 80 when it came out and the 100. The new Tundra is a recent example.

But my first reaction is that it looks like a Mitsubishi! And the bumper issue kinda sucks. But more travel and that big engine sound good...

Hopefully the more I see it, the more I'll like it.

Thanks for the link.

HEY.....what do you think they mean by this:
"Crawl Control also actuates a set of virtual locking differentials to minimize tire slippage"

Also: With the same exact W/B I'll bet the suspension is the same? IFS w'torsion bars and SRA?

TTT

just to make it more confusing

:flipoff2:

my 2007 LX looks so much better to me right now. despite the larger engine for 2008, there will likely be a lot of people for years to come that would prefer a 2007 to a 2008.

Hmmm.....first thought---Yuk !!
2nd thought---Awful !!
3rd thought--Hiddeous !!
4th thought-- Give it some time ??
5th thought--Wait for the Toyota version...

In the meantime, start looking for a Classic Silver '07 LC or LX470.....

Or (gasp), go to the nearest Land Rover dealership and start working a deal on a Range Rover S/C==I can live with some Brittish idiosyncrasies over a butt ugly Lexus !! :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby:    !!!

Work's for me

Take it easy guy's, how many of you would drop $70K large and actually wheel it. As for the style I'll reserve any statement until I see it in person. The 100 series and the LX470 never set the world on fire in looks dept,in my opinion. and trust me this thing will sell. I have not always agreed with Toyota's design philosophy but they have a way of growning on you and from a business sense it's money in the bank. I've sold Toyota's for 6 years and have sold Lexus for the past seventeen and a half. In the end it will all work out!

Peace To Ya'll

I am curious though, which will be a better wheeling rig?

80/450 vs 100/470 vs 200/570?

:grinpimp:

This is actually an interesting point

Wonder what Toyota US is going to do?

Have the LX for the lux guys and the Sequia for Toyota folsk on a cheaper platform, drop the LC as they have a big SUV now and lackluster sales of the LC? Only have the FJC to continue the Cruiser name in the US?

I don't see how they will justify having both a Sequoia and LC in the line up, with the LX filling the high end. Especially given the poor sales of the LC since the introduction of the Sequoia in 01.
