And she is sold! Wow that was fast. The new owner is local GX and IS-F owner, fellow toyota addict. He got a great deal on a well loved and well taken care of LX570. Hope he enjoys it as much as we did.

By far one of the best full size SUV's we have had ever (and we have had almost all of the various brands over the years).

We'll miss Lexy!!!

I'm now following your 80 build. Excited to see where you go with it.

Thanks!! I'll get back on the 80 series build as soon as these darn house projects are wrapped up. Hopefully in a few weeks. Poor thing is just staring at me every time I go into the garage.

congrats, now tell us what the new "toy" is. it was priced to move.
Don't want to jinx it. Still working on the purchase. I'll post about it once it's all wrapped up. Fingers crossed!

well, the Toyota Gods must not have been happy with me and struck me down with the worst luck.

that sucks, sorry to hear.
Thanks bud. I'll make the best of it, but will be $20k-ish over budget. Not the best situation, but karma will get him in the end. Life goes on... At least I still have my 97 3x locked 80 to finish building. That one will be fun.

What happened?
Bad transmission and he lied to you?
What happened to the LX570 leather seats that you got from Lseat?

This list is going to make it sound like I am a whiny guy with unreasonable expectations. Let me preface this with a couple of things. I have no problem fixing old broken cars, trucks, and boats. I love restoration projects so I have no problem fixing the things in the list below. The problem here is that I paid a VERY high dollar amount for this truck based on how it was presented, I did what I thought was my due diligence asking all the right questions and even left room in there for a few white lies the seller might be telling. But what I ended up with is a truck that is worth about 30-40% less than what I paid for it in good faith.

Here's the short list from minimal seat time before I got stranded in Lafayette:

* Front Ctis has several hoses cracked, left hub leaking, and left quick disconnect leaking. And left hub leaking too. Leaks out all 40psi in about 1hour. Seller said it leaks a couple psi per week.
* Transmission has several issues once warmed up, stops shifting into 4th or OD, won't lock torque converter, and randomly shifts into different gears without reason. Goes into some sort of limp mode randomly when warmed up and wont allow you to get into 3rd or 4th gear.
* Glow plug circuit code, start super rough and takes several minutes of running rough to the finally allow you to drive, a couple times wouldn't start at all. No wonder he had it all warmed up when I showed up for pickup.
* Seller said ac works fine but the front blower motor is broken, turns out ac doesn't work at all and the only air the rear blows is hot air.
* Diesel fill tube is leaking for main tank, didn't find out till I stopped to get fill up.
* Burning oil smell while driving after a few minutes once warmed up, haven't diagnosed yet.
* Seller stated the front headliner material was sagging so he removed it but rear is perfect, turns out rear is completely sagging and needs replacement too. And he didn't bother to tell me the front passenger seat leather had a couple rips in it.
* Seller said has keyless remote lock/unlock, he gave me two dead remotes and said they just need batteries, got batteries, and neither one does anything.
* Both rear door windows will go down but get stuck half way and it's a huge struggle to get them back up.
* Truck was filthy dirty when I picked it up. Got to wipe it down a little in the morning when I woke up at the hotel, lots of giant chips in the paint on the hood, no wonder he had it dirty on purpose.
* An entire section of the dash started coming off and started moving around as I was driving. Turns out he stuffed a rolled up piece of duct tape under it to hold it in place long enough to doop someone.

The list goes on. I gotta sit down and make a list when I get it back here to Austin and am able to go through it in detail.

After I texted him Saturday morning to let him know how bad things are he has not responded and ignored my call. I even offered him to let him keep $13k along and take the truck back and give me the rest back thinking he would take me up on that offer at least. (YES, I WAS THAT FREAKIN DONE WITH IT). Nope, not a single response from him. Pretty obvious this guy is a complete liar and and deserves the karma that will eventually come back to get him.

Dang... it seems like the truck and seller both came from the hell.
What's your plan for this truck? seems like it will cost more money and headache down the road.
I mean if it was like LX or LC, then go for it but that thing? oh man... :(
