Here's what the 200k transmission fluid looks like on a dealer kept 08 LC. Was dark like red wine.. Didn't smell too burnt though. Im gonna do a couple more drain and fills for now. Maybe every other oil change. Almost 4 qrts came out.

How about a complete fluid exchange thru the cooling lines?
I just got off the phone with the Lexus dealership near me and was told the Transmission fluid that is put in from the factory is for the lifetime of the vehicle..... Not having any trouble with it shifting or anything, so should I let it go?

I know folks do this on their GX. Is this doable for the LX? I'm thinking this is the most complete 'drain and fill' approach. How about a complete fluid exchange thru the cooling lines?
I would just do it the normal way for the radiator, transmission, diffs, and transfer case. Not hard and no need to mess with lines. Brakes and power steering are simple too.I know folks do this on their GX. Is this doable for the LX? I'm thinking this is the most complete 'drain and fill' approach.
It is, and it is well documented on this board. Pretty solid video somewhere too.I know folks do this on their GX. Is this doable for the LX?
New the LX570 world.
2015 with 88k miles
I was thinking it might be time to do all of the fluids in the drivetrain.
In calling a reputable Lexus shop here in Houston, they said they generally never do transmission fluid changes, but can...kept talking about lifetime, which is concerning.
Then I found this...from a Lexus dealer.

They even talk about flushing :|
What to do.... :/
I definitely like schedule from @04UZJ100
Fellow Houstonian here too. Just picked up a white 2011 LX with 96k miles and have been looking for a reputable third party Lexus shop. This is a great discussion. My vehicle seems to drive well but I do think about if its time to change all the fluids.
Have you found a shop that will do quality work on your LX yet?
So far my search:
1) West Side Lexus and they basically charged me $170 for an oil change.
2) Found good reviews for Clear Choice Lexus on 59S. They did the 100k service for $320, replaced the coolant, oil change, tire rotation, checked and tightening everything. I asked them not to do the oil change since it was just changed, they agreed to refund me $85 but still charged me anyways. The tech noticed the ball join on the left side Lower Control Arm was leaking and needed replacement. Quoted 1120 to replace the one LCA and tie rod.
3) Looked around for a more local shop in Katy, found Katy L&T Auto Care. They looked at the LCA and said its ok to have a little bit of an oil leak from the ball joint. I'm guessing the tech at Clear Choice hit it with some grease maybe. Said the bushings look fine, a bit cracked but still usable. Estimated around 880 to replace the LCA and tie rod. Quoted:
250 to replace the transmission fluid
455 to replace the 2 diff fluid, no idea if this includes the transfer case or not
150 to service the power steering system
90 for brake flush
The funny thing is, the tech said the cooling system looked like it needed service. This was right after I supposedly had the coolant system replaced 2 weeks ago. Quoted 235.
I'm really confused on what should be done now.
For reference: I just had new Lower Ball Joints installed for $560 in metro Portland, OR at a non-dealer, Toyota specific, shop.Fellow Houstonian here too.
