I did a search and can't find anything on how to adjust the headlights on a 2000 LX470. Both need the adjustment and I have no idea where the adjustment screws are. Can any one help me?

Thanks

open the hood. Just in front of the rad support on the back of the lights about halfway between the high and low beams theres a very long screw that sticks up that has a philips head and i think also its a hex head. Turn that.

I'll see if I can find a picture or ill go take one...hold on.

crap picture but as you can see by the first picture, theres that seriously long screw that runs diagonally up from the base of the low beam up to the middle of the light housing, thats what you're going to want to turn. Second picture is a crap picture from the top. My desktop computer took a crash so I cant get to all my pictures right now.

what year is your truck? In 03 they redesigned the lights to a plastic lens, the rest of it could have been redesigned too.

Its a 2000, but the headlights were replaced last year after my mom got into a small wreck. New Hood, grille, bumper, lights. Amazing how little happened to it, considering the car that hit her got totaled.

well I'd go back to the bodyshop then and make a deal out of it, since it SHOULD be there. Ya a VW hit my truck in the side a few years ago, my trucks tire ripped the thing apart totaling it.

Thanks for help, btw the line-x looks sick.

I was trying to adjust my headlights last night and have the same problem - my headlamps are missing that long screw. I couldn't find it sold individually, is there a way to adjust it without that long screw?
pman - what did you end up doing?

Hey Guys,
I have the same problem where my 02LX doesnt have the long screw to adjust the headlight.
Is there a solution on how to adjust vertically ? thanks. :)

At the end of the "seriously long screw," there might be a plastic cover. Under the cover is a geared wheel (think ring and pinion). One of my screws was stripped and adjustment had to be made by turning the wheel itself. I think there is a phillips head on top of it.

This is an aftermarket headlamp but it shows all the geared wheels.

Hoser, thanks for your post. I'll tackle this tomorrow.

Mine has the long screw. Is that the only adjustment? Does it have another adjustment for left to right?

I cannot find any long screws for headlight adjustment on my new to me 04 470. Does anyone have a good picture of what I should be looking for other than a long screw? Is it possible to adjust these without moving the battery on the driver side? This is nuts.

If it looks like this... it's a combination adjuster . The white plastic knob adjust both high and low beam... you can remove it and adjust them separately. Disregard the instructions and arrows... the pictures are from my HID projector install guide

Thanks I’ll take another look. Hard to see without standing in the engine bay.

I just tackled this job in my '03 lx. Taking off the combination adjusters is the way to go. The combination adjuster is plastic, and I didn't want to risk breaking it. You will need some type of tool to turn the adjustment knobs. I couldn't get channel locks or any other pliers to work. I took a grinder to small piece of aluminum scrap metal, cut a notch in it, and used it to turn the metal adjustment rods (knobs). I had to remove the battery, put it on the ground in front of the truck, and use jumper cables to the battery terminals to turn on the headlights and see how the adjustment moved. It's not difficult, but way more time consuming that need be. I'm sure the Lexus techs have a sweet little tool that makes adjusting the lights a breeze.

Looks like my '02 doesn't have screws either... So strange. Are the combination adjusters pictured here the same for all years (98-07)? @yukons photo seems to show an entirely different layout compared to the individual adjustments for high and low beams. Any further tips for turning manually if the screw isn't present?

Hi there I recently have dove into headlight retrofitting (i know im pretty late in the game)
I have 2003 Gx470 and bought these YUFANYA 2.5Inch Honeycomb Bixenon Projector Lens
Here is the problem, while you can only get two 2.5in honeycomb Projector lenses with a cool halo ring, they don’t fit what so ever.
I took them apart and roughly implanted the 2.5in honeycomb lens into the high beam lens. Now I am trying to find a 3.25in honeycomb projector lens for the partnering regular beam. Does anyone know where I could get one? I have searched a lot and have not even found a normal 3.25 in lens that replaces the one I took out.
Also, how do you take that grey bracket that the projector lens sit in out of the whole headlamp? There is an inclosed, perfectly unreachable nut that holds everything in the middle and idk how to get in there.

Thank you!
