@Formerjeeper - did you install the Teyes in a Land Cruiser? I have installed the unit in my 04 LC, but am struggling with the constant background noise and am going to try replacing the amp.
Not yet. I have an 05 LC and plan to go this route but am going to proactively replace the amp first.

That would be the best approach so you can just deal with it one time. Have you seen anything on what type of amp to use to make sure it works. I don't want to create another problem.

Thanks for the amp recommendation. When you hooked up the Teyes to your LC, did the power antenna operate properly (go down when the radio is off)? Did the Teyes antenna connection work properly?
I've replaced my power antenna with a fixed one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BB4KT2P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which seems to work well with factory nav and Teyes. The antenna connection works on the Teyes, reception is as good as it was before changing the headunit. I only attached the larger of the two plugs (smaller secondary goes to the rear quarter panel window IIRC, and I removed those awhile back)

Well I've now read the entire 39 page saga and luckily for me I have an 04 LX470 so the odds of this being a successful installation is good. I currently use a 12v dongle that connects my phone to BT via the FM radio. But I really wanted something more up to date. Toyed around with the idea of those AA/Carplay portable units but really dislike how it's just sitting there. I really like the clean OEM look so I think I'm going to get this unit.

I have a need though to go through all the posts again and notate all the work arounds everyone used to get their units working is expected. Thanks to everyone that contributed to this because it's truly useful.

I have been having trouble lately with my wireless Android auto not connecting. I haven't been able to figure out a pattern so it is tough to debug. Whenever it happens I have to go to settings, open up the app, and force stop it, as soon as I restart the car link app it works fine. Has anyone else encountered this?

Yep, wired per @stubbs helpful video:

Do you need to purchase the 6 wire RCA bundle also? Anyway to tie the Amp power into the OEM amp power wire?

I made a couple of quick videos showing the amplifier and RCA wiring in case those are helpful. This is on my '04. The Teyes wiring itself was just plug-and-play, matching up all of the connectors that could possibly fit together. Shoving that mess of wires in behind the unit turned out to be way worse than even the Grom Vline VL2 harness!

So I have the Teyes installed on my 2004 LC and have the hissing issue. So the next project will be to change out the Amp per your video. In addition to purchasing the amp and bypass harness (Amazon) what else needs to be purchased? 6 4' RCA cables? Not sure what will come with the amp and the harness to install. Also, did you power antenna work properly when looking up to the Teyes connector?

Yes, ran 6 wire RCAs and 4 gauge power wire from the battery with a 50 amp MIDI fuse to be on the safe side

Hi, anyone else has this problem with not being able to adjust the reverse guide lines? I saw this video where after he taps the “Line Settings” button, there’s a little window with all the reverse line parameters he could adjust. But I don’t get that little window after I tap the “Line Settings” button?

This is the video: Adjust reverse guide lines

I have the Line Settings button:

But I get this when I tap the Line Settings button:

If I tap it again, it goes back to the previous screen with the Line Settings button.

Anyone has experiences with this? Thank you!

So my A/C controls recently quit working and I'm stuck on hot/defrost. Sucks having to roll down my windows to suck the hot air out occasionally.

I think my harness was bad, as I caught a frayed wire/pin during the install. (see pic) I remember when I taped it up during the install, the A/C started working. I've pinged Teyes to see if they will send a new wiring harness.

In potentially related news (no idea), my entire instrument cluster is not working. No fuel gauge, speedometer, RPM guage. Some of the lights turn on when I crank the car, but nothing else works. Anybody think this is related? It seemed to happen when the A/C controls quit working.

I would check your fuses if you had exposed wires it could cause a short.

For those of you that installed the Teyes backup camera, how did you remove the OEM one? Also can that spot be reused for the new camera or is some mounting kit needed? Thanks.

I mounted mine somewhere next to the oem. I think i used double-sided tape and its held up.
