I have a 2004 Land Cruiser with the JBL speakers. I have upgraded the speakers to new JBL Clubs, with factory sub. But haven't touched the amp. This a project car with my kids so we are trying to keep within budget
I didn't think anyone has solved the hiss problem with the land cruiser. I think you need to replace the amp. I have an LX so didn't have the hiss problem, but replaced the amp anyway so I know that works

I have everything installed and works. Only issue Im having is the amp & unit wont turn off with the key out of the ignition. Any ideas?
Did you install on a LX or an LC? I have a 2004 LC.
My installer is having a number of issues including Climate not working, hiss sound, and the volume is way too loud. I waited until now to this installed hoping the issues would be resolved, but it looks like the unit is still problematic.

hiss sound
A known problem with the LCs, unfortunately. It's also on the T'eyes page for the CC3/LC100. As cryptyk noted, this can be fixed by replacing the amp, and while you're there you might as well connect the amp via RCA or co-ax digital.

the volume is way too loud

Settings cog -> Sound -> Power Conditioning -> Gain. Try various levels, mine is at 60 due to direct connection to external amp, you might want to lower it to (say) 45.

Teyes says the buzzing/hissing is a grounding issue. Has anyone posted a solution to that problem on the Land Cruisers?

Moved the Power Conditioning all the way down to 15 (max is 60). No effect on background hiss

Nobody has found a solution on the LC other than replacing the amp.
The unit is now working. Background hiss is present at all times, even when the headunit is turned off. Will have to figure out that issue later as I have a 2004 Land cruiser.

Two issues that are a priority
Power radio antenna never goes down except when car is switched off. With OEM unit, antenna would go down when radio was not in use (Disc or Tape). IS there a way to get this to go down - either when head unit is turned off, or when radio is not in use? The Land Cruiser will not be seeing the auto car wash until this is resolved.
How to move the climate selection to the Home screen? Presently it is buried under a swipe and 2 clicks in the vehicle settings menu. Is there a selection icon that can go on the home screen?

Check out posts 727 and 728 on the previous page of this thread for some tips on how to get the HVAC controls to be a permanent fixture on the screen.
I can't help you with the antenna. Mine is always down which is fine with me since I stream everything and never use it

There's an antenna wire that the installer likely wired incorrectly. The antenna should only go up when you use the radio app.

Does the antenna go down when you turn the truck off? If not, then I think the installer cut the power to the antenna entirely.

The easiest solution is to lower the antenna manually, if possible, and never use it again. If you can't manually lower it, you'll need to restore power to it by getting behind the dash.

Thanks for the response. When I started the car up on Sunday, the Snowflake icon miraculously appeared and has been working since then. Check off another quirky issue resolved.

Regarding the antenna - it only goes down when the truck is powered off. It stays up when the radio is not in use, and also when the Teyes unit is powered off (power button upper left). Need to get the operation similar to OEM, where it will go down either when radio is off (preferable) or the unit is powered off. I have sent Teyes a message but not response on a fix yet, or what to look for.

That's good news as it means your antenna has power.
The bad news is that it's wired incorrectly. It sounds like the installer hooked up the truck's antenna wire to the ACC power, rather than the dedicated Ant power wire.

At the bottom of this page, you can see that the head unit signals the truck to put the antenna up on pin G8. That allows the head unit to control the antenna up/down when the radio goes on/off. CC3 Wiring Diagram - https://www.teyes.com.au/pages/cc3-wiring-diagram

I don't have the wiring instrucitons anymore, but I seem to remember that the truck has a green wire on the harnass that is supposed to be wired to that location, but I would just go back and look at the install instructions for the antenna wire section.

Any chance I can get a TLDR for setup on an 07 LX470? I've read through most this thread but there is a ton of info. I just received my unit and will likely get to installing this weekend; just wanted to see if there were any quirks I need to be aware of, like ensuring certain wires are correctly terminated in harness etc.

Thanks!

For the replacement of the amp, are there any threads that discuss which amps work to resolve the "hissing" issue with the JBL Land Cruisers? I saw a post showing an Amp bypass connector from Amazon, but haven't seen anything about what type of Amp to replace with. Hissing is the primary issue that I still need to resolve on this Teyes unit.

Any amp should work. Aim for something that fits under the front passenger seat. I also highly, highly recommend you choose an amp with digital input to avoid any potential ground loop problems.

I am looking at Crutchfield now for amp options. Hoping to keep the cost down as this thing is already costing me more than originally planned. When i install the amp I can look at the antenna power connection to see if I can switch it. My installer said he hooked up to ACC because the original hookup didn't work.

Would the OEM JBL amp have digital input?
