LX470 2004 | Need help with Android Screen (1 Viewer)

Updated the firmware (Teyes OTA) to 21.04.2023 (err that's 21 April ), which included an update to Car Link v 2.2. Wired AA has gone pear-shaped.

If it connects, it works for between 15-20 minutes then stops, blank screen and the Car Link app appears to stop searching - no circling or active dots on the "connecting to device".

AA wireless seems to work sometimes, however the only way to get the Car Link app to restart is to restart the whole CC3 (swipe from top, reboot on top right).

Waiting to hear back from Dan about either a firmware rollback or a different (earlier?) version of Car Link

TL;DR? If your CC3 works fine - don't update to 21.04.2023 firmware. Normal YMMV warning

Had a similar problem with my CarLink app. Ended up deleting it and looked into Headunit Reloaded and some other AA companion type apps. Can't seem to get AA wireless working smoothly. I'll post up if I get something working smoothly. Ill be curious as to their response and what app version they send you, though.

Yay - AA wireless and wired

Nay - snowflake gone.

So temporary fix is the Vehicle Info app (which has the app) on home screen. Lucky the 23c AUTO works for most scenarios. However Mrs willyroo is going to eat me alive if this isn't sorted soon...

TL;DR - don't install the April update yet

Yes to everything. I also used the Metra harness from amazon that fits my amp. it was $40 but it matched the wires perfectly so I didn't have to run new wires to any of the speakers, and I can always revert to stock if I every wanted to (I wont)

Note: only the larger plug fit into my amp, and all of the wires were labeled correctly regarding which wire went where. For example, the (FR+) labeled wire went to the front right positive speakers, etcc.

What’s the power situation like. I assume with any decent 5ch amp you’ve gotta run some beefy power to it, so that’s another added pain in the ass.

Too bad no one’s cracked this hum issue yet.

I got a simple Power wire Amp kit from amazon.
It came with the power wire that I ran through the passenger side firewall grommet, and grounded the amp directly to a sanded portion of the body where the seat attaches. I ran the RCA's on the other side of the power cable to avoid noise. So it went under the center console, and up to the back of the teyes.

Nay - snowflake gone.

An update on the April update. AA wireless is now working most of the time. Haven't had to do a reboot (swipe from top - twice - and "Reboot" on top corner) for at least a week now.

Now to the fecking snowflake. After going through the menus and apps, I eventually opened the "Touch Assistant" app. Voilà.

I checked the "Air Conditioning Protocol"
I checked the "Start Assistant when turned on"

And Mr Snowflake is back. Dragged across to the right hand side, and it almost looks like it's part of AA

Well, I can confirm that an after market AMP does get rid of the hiss / hum / static. I went with the same amp that @SandSandwhich used in his set up. I'm a bit slow when it comes to anything electrical, so I wasn't able to figure out the sub wiring. There are 4 wires coming out of the vehicle harness:

One RCA for the sub coming out of the Teyes, 2 RCA inputs for channel 5 on the amp, and 2 outputs from the amp..

Also somehow throughout the process, I managed to lose sound from the driver's side front, then rear speakers... But I attribute that to my own inexperience and "learn as I go, from my own mistakes" process.. I'll keep troubleshooting and hopefully get all 4 corners plus the sub back online.

2006 LC here, I bought the CC3 2K without a whole lot of research and ran into the hissing noise everyone else describes. Also, volume knob only mutes, no volume adjustment.
So I said, f**k it and I committed to an aftermarket amp and new speakers. This solved two issues, a parasitic draw I couldn't find and the hissing went away. To another point, I had to take the gain almost to 0 on the amp to make that happen and I made a solid ground by the seat mounts. Also I routed the power through firewall by the passenger fuse box and stayed far away from the RCAs. For what its worth, I also ran all new speaker wires to the speakers and replaced to stock sub.
I think the system is worth the hassle, really wish that volume knob worked but i can live with the steering wheel. Pretty sure that stock Amp was killing my battery so glad its gone.

Can you take a picture of the black "G" wire at that back of the teyes?

Edit: nevermind. I missed that you said you're using the rcas. The "g" wire is irrelevant.

Edit again: on the equalizer app, try setting each speaker to a slightly different delay and volume. See if you get sound then.

It's gotta be something with the replacement amp wiring harness/connector for me. I had all speakers working fine before I pulled the factory amp to replace it and I've verified my RCA outputs from the head unit are all sending the right signals. I get front right audio on the grey wires, back right audio on the purple/violet wires, and the sub fires on the brown wires... but that's it. I haven't found which wires connect to the driver's side speakers in this harness, and connecting any other wires to the working amp output (for example, front right) gets me silence!

Yeah. So I’ve got 4 channels on the amp working fine, all except the sub. I’ve only got audio coming out of the right rear and right front speakers, but I can take the grey wires on the metra harness and connect them to all 4 channel outputs on the amp to verify all channels are working properly.

In the picture showing the amp outputs, I know I’ve got signal on all four (tested my moving wires around between outputs), but I’m not getting audio from the white and white/black wires or green and green/black. It’s like they just don’t go to the left speakers. I’m left wondering if the wires on the connector to the factory harness are in the wrong sockets?

Green/Blue are FR +-
Pink/Violet are FL+-
Red/White are RR +-
Black/Yellow are RL +-

You can see those in the amp diagram below.

I suspect that you're not getting signal from the Teyes to the factory harness on the left channel.

If you back up to the Teyes, can you explain/show how you're connecting the Teyes to the factory harness? Are you using the Teyes "G" connector for that?

Ooh, that factory harness diagram helps, I'll go check my connector!

I'm sending low-level outputs from teyes to the amp through the RCA outputs and I've validated that all 5 channels coming out of the Teyes have signal, and all 4 outputs from the amp have signal (I'm not sure on the 5th sub channel yet), so it's really a wiring question between the amp and left speakers. Worst case, I pull apart the interior more and run my own speaker wires to the driver's side.
