Any input/opinions on the 2k versus non-2k versions ??

TIA
I got the 2k because a) higher resolution = more detail, especially helpful in mapping applications. b) better display density setup for CarPlay. c) it reportedly has better built-in cooling and doesn't get as hot. It's also got a better built-in mic if you care about that.

Looks like 2k is the only available option now, unless you're purchasing used. Besides the integrated fan another is improved Bluetooth. The new screen does appear to be quite a bit better and seems worth the ~$50 premium over the original.

If desired you can neuter the onboard mic fairly easily. Just need to loosen some screws to access the daughter board, and pop off the mic with some diagonal cutters.

Can anyone confirm this is compatible with the factory Mark Levinson system ( 2005 lx) ?

Specifically without having to do the amp bypass ? ( to avoid the “Hiss” )

I'm trying to decide if I want to attempt this install or pay someone to do it. My hang up right now is the backup camera. Are there any good writeups on that part of things?

I ordered my CC3 2K and the 360 camera system this week for my 05 LC. Going to be doing a full upgrade with a new Amp/DSP, speakers and sub. I'll probably start doing the speakers this weekend. I would imagine it will take 2 weeks or so to get the CC3.

VERY interested to see how that project goes. It sounds like you're gonna have a great setup. Keep us posted!

Will do! Looking forward to this project. I'm not going over the top. Infinity reference speakers and an Infinity Basslink Mini for the sub. I'm going to bypass the built in sub for now. The amp is a JBL DSP4086. It's an 8 channel amp with an integrated DSP. I'll probably drive the front components with separate amplification which will mean running some new wires.

My goal starting out is to see if I can get everything under the passenger seat. Planning to gut the stock amplifier and nav drive. I think the sub will fit under there but we'll see shortly.

Levinson equipped? Very interest in the results here

My Teyes unit shipped today (Hooray!). Just a quick sanity check to make sure I'm thinking about this correctly:
I'd like to remove my navigation drive and the factory amplifier in my 2005 LC. Outside of jumping the FL audio on the NAV harness, I shouldn't need to do anything else right? My intent is to use the Metro harness for my new amplifier.

I made a couple of quick videos showing the amplifier and RCA wiring in case those are helpful. This is on my '04. The Teyes wiring itself was just plug-and-play, matching up all of the connectors that could possibly fit together. Shoving that mess of wires in behind the unit turned out to be way worse than even the Grom Vline VL2 harness!
Amplifier wiring and settings:
Amplifier mounting under passenger seat:

How many channels on your RCA do you have? 5? Sorry. Complete noob with this stuff.... gonna tackle this project in a few weeks so Im trying to get all my ducks in arow.

Does anyone who has installed the CC3 on a later model LC/LX have a list of what they needed to get to successfully have this thing work? Looking for details like the amp, any harnesses (for steering wheel controls), etc. TIA

Adding to this question, which model are people purchasing? Is it needed or worth buying the one with 128g +6g (most expensive model C CC3 2k). I would rather go all out and not have it bit glitchy.

I bought the 128GB both for the storage and hopefully smoother performance memory wise. I think if you're just doing carplay you might be OK with less but I wouldn't get the base model either way. I've installed Plex on mine and have downloaded/synced a bunch of movies over! Too bad there's no video out support.
