edited april 30th for clarity.

First off, I'll attach all my lexus PDFs needed below and in the next two posts.

Starting with the easy stuff, the top computer screen, case, and connector.

computer 8326560220
case assembly 83240-60220

And whatever double din you need or want. It has come to my attention that the toyota OEM part is a way better part, if only in the fitment aspect of things. It's part number
#55412-60310 $58 partsouk, compared to the $30 ebay one. The same side adapters fit the stock part. So any adapters from ebay or amazon work with the stock piece.

All those above are the same for the landcruiser also.

The metal side brackets are the same as landcruiser 86208-60030 left hand, and 86207-60030 right hand. You can't reuse the old ones.

The lower section.
The panel that covers the whole thing and houses the small connectors for the cdl, hzrd an antenna +passenger side seatbelt/airbag light remains the same and covers up all the parts listed below.

The case holding the AC amp and the heater circuit board is listed as 55912-60140
That is one number off the totyota case.

The heater integration panel (circuit board) 84014-60210 (2003- jan 2006) This is the part listed on lexus sites. The late 2006-2007 part number is 84014-60340
I suspect maybe there is an addition to the later part number circuit wise, just like there is a break in production of the LC in Jan 2006 units. I have not found it in my LC books though.

EDIT april, 21, 2018.
It is a fact if your production date is after jan 2006 you must have 84014-60340 which is NLA, and I have not been able to find it anywhere here or international parts places.
There could be a fix by using the jan 2006 + production LC board. That would be a $600 bill to find out if it does or not. The circuitry is going to be in there for the additional passenger airbag on off indicator that is yellow.

First week of may I will have both the LC later board and the board/ assembly for a 2005 LX and I'll find out if you can put the landcruiser board into the plastic sub assembly and make it work with a different button arrangement.
Essentially re arranging the lower buttons to match up with the current LX arrangement. If you compare the LC and LX you'll see the lower buttons are in different spots on the lower panel. I'll know soon.

The AC amplifier has four different part numbers listed for UZJ100L-GNAGKA

88650-60820 , listed as 2003-2006 This one I don't know about and can't really find any info.
88650-60821 , listed as feb,2004-may2005 This one I can confirm that I've seen in an assembly listed for a 2005 landcruiser and is the correct configuration with the correct plugs that are in the LX and LC. And has been used in other conversions.

88650-60B80 , listed as may2005-2007 all.. this one I can confirm is correct and works in my LC. I would like someone to install this one in an LX 2003-4. I see no reason why it wouldn't work. But again, I have no proof. honestly, if someone put it the 88650-60821 and it turned out wrong or something didn't work right I could commit to swapping with you. I'm pretty confident that wither board will work fine, both were in non nav LC north america.

The MPH, distance, fuel econ, etc comes from the UART lines that go into the M12 connector. Also those lines dictate Fahrenheit in the upper right instead of C° (instrument panel dependent I think)

The lower front plastic panel.
Panel Sub Assembly- 55902-60130 this is lexus only of course. The knob kit for the lexus part is 55905-60760.
if you swapped to the toyota sub panel you'd have to switch side panel vents also, because then the lower cover wouldn't work, the one with the wood, or fake wood on it.

Connector info.

The AC connections in the lexus are A47, A48, and A49.
They are the same connectors as in the landcruiser, just numbered differently. Same part numbers though.

I have these and repair wires for the two needed.

The display connector M12 is the same as the LC and most of the wires needed for the new M12 connector come from the M5. I have these if you want them, either in a pluf an play along with the M5, or as a stand alone wire yourself configuration.
The m12 is a hard to find part I think. I only have one place where I ordered my lat set with a order minimum of $50, so I do in fact have a lot of these.

The combo meter, (instrument panel) connectors are the same as the LC, C14 is the leftmost connector, count over from there to C16 and were looking for pins 16 and 17.
THE 2003 LEXUS appears to have the combo meter pins moved up two positions to #14 and #15. These are the uart data lines. Do some reading, check TIS for 2003 specific, or check a 2003 FSM in the combo meter section for pin outs, the will for sure be listed in the FSM I just had some conflicting info about an Australian LXs pins being one off.

The C34 connector behind the display is the one that controls the antenna and hazrd, etc.
That's the one that gets cut and the some of the wires go into the A47 connector. (in the LC the same connector is labeled C28)
This is also where you would have a blue/white wire and a violet wire labeled as PAON and off (passenger air bag on, and off) those are also inserted in to the new A47 plug
I will never run out of A47 housings or the .64 III terminals for them.

I have an 2004 LX with the Mark Levinson System. Is this going to matter? I am willing to be the LX guinea pig as long as you don't mind a million questions. I am assuming that I will have to replaced the Factory Amp, which would also mean new speakers also.... Am I correct?

@jerryb Thank you for your efforts! I'm one of many, I'm sure, who would love to see this come to fruition.

@Slamd1958 having the ML stereo doesn't matter.
What I haven't done is go search for part availability or verification. It's pretty simple to search the lexus catalogs on partsouk for the USA LX UZJ100L-GNAGKA Cross reference with the LC.

HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING - CONTROL & AIR DUCT | LEXUS LX470 UZJ100 UZJ100L-GNAGKA | Lexus | Genuine Parts Catalogs | PartSouq Auto Parts Around the World

the ac amp circuit board part numbers are mostly the same as the LC boards. Look at the 88650-60821 and the 88650-60B80. the B80 is 120$ cheaper. Getting the same answer about part numbers from two different parts dealers on the phone is a good thing.
Whatever they said on the phone is what I went with as far as the AC amplifier. It's the most expensive part next to the heater circuit board.
It will be next to impossible to find those used, due to volume. I'm trying to locate used assemblies, but that would be months from now. If I do get used, IF, they would be 88650-60821 ac boards. Part souk, if I remember right said they have never sold 88650-60821 # which seemed odd to me.

One universal difference is the fourth button on the very bottom where the defrost, mirror heat and rear buttons are.
Elsewhere they have a hi/lo rear button. That right there might be one reason of the AC board part number difference.

I have not plugged in lexus #s into Genuine Japanese Car Part Imports - Amayama I don't know what they have, but shipping is cheaper there.

I would go with whatever USA dealers confirm, even if they won't let you return it. I got conflicting answers from toyota parts counters about whether I could return it or not after visual inspection at the counter. Obviously retuning something to partsouk might be a problem. It's just so expensive at the dealer. Having $1000 of circuit boards that aren't right will ruin your day. NOt trying to scare anyone, I really think they all would work fine. I know they work in the LC, it's safe to assume they work in the LX also.

If anyone starts ordering stuff let me know. I have or will have, extra M12 connectors all wired up soon, that's the one that is the same as the LC m9 connector with the correct pins and correct A49 extension/repair wire that goes into A49 on the LX.
Apparently 90980-12094 is in short supply unless someone has it on the shelf.

Also I've ordered the A47 and repair wires (needed), which is the same as the LC A45. That might break when you take it apart.
I keep finding out info all the time. So some info might change. I don't mind questions.

@jerryb saw that you were looking for a wiring diagram for the LX. A friend downloaded the EWD for me today. I'm not entirely sure what I am looking at, but if you can let me know what you are looking for I can look for it. Also, I have a hard copy of the EWD on the way..

I had most of what I needed. But I wanted to confirm the UART lines location behind the instrument panel with another source. PADO sent me 2003 lx pic of the fsm section. so I'm all set. Thank you. I might need more, I'm not sure.
I was starting to go through the m12, a47 and a49 plugs. I haven't finished the A connectors. I'm sure they're same as the LC for 2004-7. 2003 might be one wire off on the a47 connector.
I haven't been in a hurry.
I'm waiting on some parts

I'm going to put together a few m12/9 plugs assembled, and have extra a47, a49 (LX) which is also a45 and a47(LC) connectors with extra wire/terminals. Just to make it easier and cheaper for someone.
If someone does want to get all the hard parts I'll install it for next to nothing if you're close. I'm definetly going to sell or provide the m12/9 ready to splice in with the m5 wires.

I’d love for you to help me, but unfortunately I am WAY far away from Florida. LOL. I haven’t really had much luck with the hard parts. Any suggestions on where to get them? Should I just be concentrating on Toyota parts and hope they work...

I've edited the first post to update new info, etc.

hey, do all lexus cover panels look like this, I mean the wood surround piece containing the hazard, antenna up/down and the CDL buttons on the left and the passenger weight sensor light on the right? Just making sure I'm not missing something.

yes I believe every one that I have looked at have this same combination....

Jerry - Not sure if this matters but on my 2004 the temperature gauge - Exterior and Interior is in the middle and not on top like your photo above

IMG_2304.JPG

Ihe new computer and case is at the top. That replaces the middle section display.

The landcruiser non nav conversion thread is here.
post 2003 nav delete how to.

there are lots of pictures and talk there.

The landcruiser non nav parts thread is here.
2006 non nav info. Part numbers.

The display area on top, and the read out panel with temperature and time in the middle is the all the same across all models of 2003-07 landcruiser and LX. So all the parts for the conversion are the same. The wiring is the same, the connectors are the same. Essentially you're going from this
lx reg.jpg

to this

lexus non nav.jpg

to do that you need this
f740be42.jpg

The lower section has the heater and AC circuit boards, the housing for the same, the plastic cover control panel and the knob set for the same.

The upper section is the display computer, the case for the same, and the double din stereo plastic cover.

Add the side brackets that hold it all together and that's pretty much it. It's more expensive than the landcruiser parts list, but your used parts sold on ebay are probably worth more as well.
I'm sure you can make 800$ off your used parts.

The parts that get deleted;
the OEM stereo
the OEM stereo amplifier
the AC amplifier box
the dvd changer is you have one
the NAV ECU
the OEM display screen
the rear seat audio (won't work)
the television ECU, back up cam ECU

The whole audio visual local area network is getting deleted and you're installing a aftermarket stereo

with nav or whatever you decide to do.
The reason to do this is because you can't take out the OEM stock screen and put something else in there because the stock screen controls all the other units in the system.
I hope that makes it more clear without being to technical or dumbing it down too much.
It isn't difficult. I can't even solder 22 gauge wire together. I use the smallest solder seal connectors and a heat gun and shrink wrap. The difficulty is getting the right AC amp and heater circuit boards at a decent price, and making the splices. You move seven or so wires around in the A47 plug and you add one wire to the A49 plug on the back.
The new plug needed is the M12. I can provide that all wired up and ready to go. That are 10 wires to splice in. Removing the instrument panel is easy, and finding the two wires needed for that isn't difficult. And if you don't care about the miles left, distance traveled, and distance to empty on the upper display you can just leave them off. and there will be two or three dots, like this .... That means the wires are wrong, or they're not connected.

tool wise you need,
10mm socket wrench
phillips screwdriver
wire strippers/cutters
heat gun
tiny flat head screwdriver or paper clip, safety pin, needle, etc
plastic panel tools help a lot also.
I think that's it.

I will write out some instructions after I go through the AC amplifier connections for A47 and A49 connections.
I'll put PDFs for the m12, A47 and A49 when I finish. When I get one of the M12 ready I'll post that up also.
Also, here is the picture that might help wrapping your brain about whats needed. Altered to reflect correct connector numbers for the LX

This looks promising.... Jerry thank you for all your efforts....

There is a 2004 LX going, and a 2003 LC, In a month there will be more answers about the cheaper, latest AC amp board.
If anyone is thinking about this, there seems to be a shortage of stuff, mcgeorge toyota got wires and connectors for me from outside the USA. Order the upper section stuff, that's cheap. You never know when there will not be anymore top computers left for $220. You never know. I only had enough wires and connectors for 4 cars and 3 of them are spoken for already.
I have more coming though.

I want to say thanks to the people letting me know they're ordering stuff. More so for the information about the two circuit boards and which year they're getting installed in.

the wiring for the 2004 lexus A47 40 pin is 99.5% same as the 2006 LC. That should mean the heater and AC boards from the latest model of each will work and be downward compatible. That's the whole reasoning behind the big 40 pin having multiple crossed over grounds lined up in a row, I think. So it won't matter which country or which AC and heat board.

We'll see.

Parts are ordered. Total Cost $2,008.19 with Shipping.... :censor:. Dang now I still have to order a radio. So if anyone is looking for used parts, NAV computer, A/C Amp, Nav screen, CD changer, DVD Player, etc..... PM me because I will be
selling some of the parts to recoup the cost above...

This will teach my fiancé to go to Florida and not invite me!!!

Mine is already posted on eBay since mine was removed early this year. I will also have a plug and that will move the mfd unit for sale shortly.

Am I reading this correctly? Has someone finally figured out how to remove the NAV system and replace it with the manual controls? WOW
