LX Front License Plate Bracket

i have failed searching. I am sure that there is a Lexus part number that is for a front license plate bracket that is better than the plate screwed directly into the bumper. But I can’t find it...

Does anyone have the part number? Did Lexus really sell a $67,000 car in 2004 with no front license plate bracket thing?

I see nothing wrong with screwing the plate and the frame of your choice directly onto the bumper. It has a rectangular indentation for it.

You talking about a little frame that goes around the license plate? No such OEM thing for the LC. You can find tons of them aftermarket, hell your dealer will probably give you one with their logo on it.

Mine has no “indentation” for it. Not looking for a frame. Something like this (and I know the LC didn’t get one, was just hoping they made one for the LX!)

A front license plate isn't required in a lot of states (19 states don't require them)... so, yes, they did sell a $67000 car in 2004 without a license plate bracket. It's a state thing, not a federal thing.

Well heck. Yeah front license plates seem silly to me. Our 3/4 ton and up trucks only have one required on the front. Weird. I haven’t been stopped yet. Maybe I’ll forget to reattach it...

Hi guys,
I noticed that the front license plate on my 2004 LC was mounted poorly. It is required in Illinois. Apparently the hole spacing for standard Japanese license plates is about 1.5" wider than the American license plate. So I have factory mounting holes, but in the wrong place for my plates, so someone just used a small self tapping screw to mount. I found an adapter plate that attaches to the factory location, backs up the license plate and fits American size plates. It is very well made and nicely designed.
