I have what appears to be some sun damage on the bumper of my 02. I am assuming that there is no reversing this but curious about was to prevent it from spreading and happening other places on my truck

. I have no garage to keep it in and I live in sunny Florida. Any tips would be super helpful. Thanks.

Cover it or garage it. Waxing might help some, but nothing like preventing the UV from hitting it.

I guess you see a lot of older cars running around with fading paint. UV stabilizers in the clear coat are just consumed and the paint start to turn yellow and breaks under UV.
Only solution: new clear coat.

You'll likely see this next on your hood, roof, tail gate, parts of the fender that are flatter and pointed more upwards...

I detail, paint-correct paint surfaces, ceramic-coat cars as hobby / small business, this is repairable. Wet sand start with 800 grit, then 1500, then 2000 then lastly 3000 grit. Use an orange cutting foam and a good compound and you will basically restore it to around 95% new again and barely noticeable unless you look closely and stare at the imperfections. Once done, apply ceramic coating (amazon), let it cure and repeat for 4-5 times wipe out the flashed tacky chemical (YouTube), dry for a few hours and you are all set.

After paint correction, look into Paint Protection Film (PPF) for UV protection. Maybe not the entire vehicle ($$$) maybe just the horizontal surfaces?
