I have two questions about the attached LV items:

1) I have the tiebacks that I believe are for the rear seat. I have recovered them and cant see how they attach. Anyone know how they go on the seat and what their function is?

2) Since my lv is back together, I have no door "stops" in any of the doors. I do have these two...and they are different styles. Is one for the front door and one the back? I do need two more depending on which doors these are for. Fortunately, I do have four of the rubber stops that go with them.

Thanks,
Dukes

First trip with lv

Since moving back to Florida, I made my first significant ride with the lv. I drove from Clearwater Beach to Daytona Beach for a huge car show at the Daytona Speedway...Turkey Run. The ride was about 3 1/2 hours and all went well.

I have been toying with the idea of getting a GTO convertible or some other type of convertible. I can now assure any Land Cruiser guy, we truly have unique rigs. After seeing rows and rows of hotrods, vws, rat rods and the likes...not a single cruiser. I did take my LV to an outlaw show at one of the Publix supermarkets with 100s of cars. As I went to see other cars, I was amazed to see the number of people walking thru rows of $50,000 hotrods to look at my LV and take pictures. I was shocked by the numbers giving thumbs up or stopping me for pictures. Virtually every car passing me on the ride over was accompanied by a passenger spinning to look art my car as they passed and a driver rubbernecking to get a better look. A women even gave me her card, as a matchmaker, after looking my car over in a gas station....I think we are on to something there. Having owned about 15 different cruisers, I have become a bit used to them. I will just say that, all the work required to restore mine was well worth the effort after this weekend.

  • Dukes, the truck looks awesome, I have had a lot of cool cars over the years and my first cruiser was a 64 lv. I have never had a vehicle turn heads as much as any 45 truck or wagon! Your parts are not original in your pics, they look homemade, THE ORIGINAL SEATBACK STAYS WERE CAST ALUMINUM ,the two door stops look correct!

Hey Whitey,

I do have the metal seat stays attached to the side of the lv. I just thought maybe these held the seat when it gets folded forward...guess not.

The Door hold backs are two different styles. If you look, the two screw down plates face different directions. Is one style for the front and the other for the back? Does anybody have any of these around?

Thanks

Yes, it does hold the seat down when its folded forward. This is on my late 1967, I had a early 67 that still had the canvas strap but the connection part was a little different. There was only one strap on my seats, and they just screwed into the seat as you can see in the photos.
