Hi everyone. For the past year and a half I've been wheeling my '14 LX 570 on the trails. At first I was okay with a few scrape marks on the bumper and the pin stripping from brush but I've always felt like I couldn't really enjoy off-roading 100% if I'm constantly worrying about damaging the LX. So yeaterday I picked up a triple locked 1997 FZJ80. It's getting some basic maintenance done at my friends shop as well as a set of K02's. I'm going to use this thread to keep track of the progress of my build. I hope to have steady progress over the next few months. So as some body once said, "Here we go..."

Here's a couple photo of my 200.

Nice rig! Looks like you know where you want to go with it and you're not wasting any time. :) Keep us updated.

Took the 80 to Last Chance Canyon out in Mojave. I can not be any more pleased with how it handled the rocky terrain!

Had a tiny bit of progress this week. Tidied up the exterior a little today.

Recleared the front signals.

How well does the plastidip hold up?
What prep did you do?

I'm not expecting the plasti-dip to hold up as well as actual paint. I'll update how the plasti-dip holds up in this thread. I've had friends who have dipped parts of their cars over a year ago and it still looks good. I didn't do too much prep work. I just made sure to clean the flares and remove any greaes on the surface.

Plastidip tends to hold up pretty well to normal use. However, it probably won't hold up well against branches/limbs on tight trails or anything like that. I Plastidipped the wheels on my wife's DD (grocery getter) 3 years ago and it's still looking great. I've only had to touch up the lip of the wheels when I put new tires on it and around the lug nuts when the tires are rotated. Easy peasy...

If any damage happens to the plasti-dip off-roading I'll have a can ready for trail repairs!

There ya go! I believe @Box Rocket does the same with his flares... Just re-coats them if they ever get buggered up. No big deal at all...

Installed these goodies today. So nice to have a working head unit in the car!
