OK, message received, more photos.

INTERIOR
Dash is kind of chewed up with at least half a dozen switches no longer attached to working accessories.

Interior is moldy, worn and due for attention. Just small parts, fabric and paint. Seats are mismatched, with the driver's side coming from a different vehicle. I bought a set of BMW buckets out of a 2-door, sans electrics (no heat, manual adjustment) but with the seat flip forward feature for access (see photo below). Torfab makes a nice adapter kit for 60's that will make for an easy install. Hopefully a wee bit more legroom and a little bit lower than OEM Toyota.

Carpets will be replaced by either OEM rubber or new carpet over Dynomat.
Door and side cards in fair shape, need cleaning and in the case of the rear doors, recoloring.

The roof needs some attention - seals, trim and headliner. Some of the body color interior paint needs a touch-up, along with the roll bar, seat belts, etc.

The stock console is so small I am not sure what it is good for - what others use it for or replace it with?

Are your current seats the "bouncy" kind?
They are smelly, ripped, mis-matched and not very supportive. I would not say that they are particularly bouncy. I am a fan of many things German, including MB and BMW - particularly their seating options.

Torfab makes a great kit for installing BMW 3 series seats into 60s and I will use this to install my pull-outs.

I would like to get a little more legroom and I think the refit kit will make that happen. This solution will also eliminate upholstery costs and challenge of fabric selection. The BMW seats I have are black leatherette - not as durable as the MB Tex seats I have had, but very nice facing and easier to clean than cloth. An upholsterer can also get the BMW fabric to recover the rear bench and match the cushion/stitching pattern of the fronts.

Combined pricing of pull-out seats and install kit make this a $300 upgrade if you shop carefully and are patient. Just need to find a set out of a coupe for the tilt feature (shown below)

Even small children have camera phones these days. :D

More snaps / commentary:

WHEELS / TIRES
The Burrito currently wears some Euro-spec OEMs (I think) that are 16x6 inches, shod with Cooper tires. Diameter for reference is somewhere between 28 and 29 inches. Backspacing measures approx. 3.5 inches.

The current plan is to run a set of OEM take-offs used as spares on Tacos, Sequoias, Tundras, etc. They are 16x7 inches with (apparently) a 4.5 inch backspace, requiring spacers. I know there are strong feelings on these, but have run them before and am comfortable with required maintenance.

Inspiration coming from two sources:
1- I came very close to buying this rig from UK, a LHD G 240 from NATO defense reserve stock - 4cyl diesel, 7,000 original miles. Decided to stay true to Mr. Toyoda, but did like the look of ride height, wheel/tire combo.

2- A shameless rip-off of c2dfj45's 75 build. Tires, wheels and OEM snorkel as below. Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery..... His are 255/85/R16 which are over 33 inches in dia.

Following his lead, I am thinking of Toyo Open Country M/T or M55 if I can find them. The "look" and sizing will be tall/skinny vs. lifted pick-up balloons. Something between 30 and 31 inch diameter. Size suggestions most appreciated. (table below)

SUSPENSION
I have not driven enough to get a sense of what is needed, but the range of options include either AALs to get the flat-spring effect reversed, or an Ironman kit (no-lift, Comfort option). No need for a lift, just want to get it back to stock, including handling/ride quality.

Any suggestions from the 7X crew? Thanks and

Bouncy seats = hydraulic actuators that allow them to move up and down. :)

Ah! No, bouncy.

Just foam, springs, cloth and the aromas of motor oil, mildew, Benzine, Spain and agricultural operations.

A friend of mine drives long-haul for UPS in a top of the line Volvo. Spends four or five days a week going from San Francisco to Chicago and back again. He loves his truck.

Evidently, it is equipped with current state of the art in bouncy seats - the Bose computerized unit shown below. Costs more than most Landcruisers. Also, would need to take the 73's top off for overhead clearance.

Mine contains 2 PTO shear pins, the key to my spare tire and some fuel reciepts. Oh, and a pencil......:)

It is pretty much full.

Hmmm....the new seats will likely need some extra room so it appears the the jockey box will need to go. Guess I could get one of those European man purses to carry around my shear pins, tire locks, personal grooming products, etc....

If there is a heater under there (like in mine) you may have some challenges removing the console.

Your purse may have to ride in the back seat.

A real man never gives up his purse....:smokin:

Luckily, there appears never to have been a heater under there. Wiring harness has several sets of connections, but no mounting brackets, hoses, signs of moisture, etc.

Photos show console mounting area from passenger side and rear. Also shown is floor beneath carpet. Amazingly clean and free of moisture or corrosion.

Things are looking up (well, down, actually).

I've Smelled Worse

The HAZMAT crew has been hard at work on door cards, carpet and messy corners. No rust, clean beneath/behind the soft stuff.

Need to repair, recover or replace door and side panels, re-dye to the same color and fill some small holes. Wiring harness to trailer pigtail, rear washer, wiper, license light, defroster all in pretty sad shape. Shocked to find Lucas relays in the passenger side quarter panel.....memories of my bug-eye Sprite burning brightly due to a fused Lucas relay. Lots of wiring n there, much of it due to be rehabilitated.

Need some help - what is the correct name of the boxed air intake inside of the fender louvers? The driver's side (left) watchamacalit is missing from the Burrito, need to find a replacement, would help to know what to call it.....thanks!

"Duct assembly, quarter ventilator". Same part number on both sides. 62903-90K00. A dead-end in this market.

Thanks, Dan. With a name, the hunt is on..... What I have found so far. Per this, it appears that left and right have different part numbers.

Different part name codes, same part number. Note that part name code 69203 and 69204 both point to 69203-90K00.

Yan may be able to get them.

Thanks, Dan. I am frequently confused, even when presented with clear direction. A member of the 7X club may have a used item to donate, so I am standing by for some charity.

My "Need/Want" list now totals fifty items - good thing I sold one of the FJ62s...

One of the many joys of owning a vintage Cruiser. Especially one that was never sold in the U.S. :)

Clearly......I did know what I was getting into and did so with eyes wide open.
