Half full is easier to hoist as well......;)

Not near the effort.

REAR QUARTERS
Cleaning out various archeological artifacts from the back corners of the Burrito. With CD's help, figured out what to look for regarding the air vent. The passenger side was still complete (including rotten gaskets) while the driver's side was grille only. Lots of Spanish dust (granular soil, not recreational drug) packed into the nooks and crannies.

Electrical mess on the passenger side show lots of old wiring and a gang of unused Lucas relays.

Living in Western Washington, none of my rigs have functioning rear washers. We have plenty of water, don't really need a bottle of fluid in the fenders, plus feed tubes and related wiring. I make a point to remove extraneous components.

Given this, I now have a one-owner, low mileage rear washer bottle (24 volt) available for adoption.

I must confess, the idea of rubber (vinyl) vs. carpet is appealing. One of the things I hate is dirty carpet (including the petrie dish currently installed in the Burrito), and one of the things I love about the Fire Truck is OEM Toyota vinyl on the floor. Easy to remove, hose off and reinstall. They even smell cool!

Here's a partial shot of the JDM OEM mats in the Fire Rooster, under the equipment island (siren/hailer) and fancy cardboard floor mats.

Thanks for tracking down some gray rubber for the 73!! :bounce::bounce2:

Looking good on the clean up, its great to see pictures for comparison as I have yet to get into a detailed clean up yet.

and on tires , I am really liking the 235 / 85 /16 on spacers. but they do stick out enough to kick up dirt and mud all over the truck...

Your rig looks pretty clean, compared to mine. Rojo was loved, Burrito was driven hard and put away wet.

Appreciate the comment on tire size. I am leaning toward 75 series to lower the profile. The 85s are a little tall given I am not planning on a lift. Currently leaning toward Toyo M55 in 245/75R16 - a little lower and a skosh wider than your BFGs. Not planning on fender flares, but definitely adding mud flaps to cut down on the fender spray.

You have hit the jackpot my friend ........
There are a bunch of half - crazed Triumph owners out there that will pay you a fortune for these things. :D

Good point. I'll just tell them that they are high-performance versions with twice as much power...

Mr KLEEN

Carpets mostly out, no bad news under the fabric, other than some missing drain plugs. All original paint, no rust.

A dump run on my calendar tomorrow. Seat frames going into the spare part locker.

License plate fell off - headed to Georgia (state, not country).

Thanks to Alberto and Alex for offers of help - most appreciated.

Will you be selling your front bucket seats? I'm interested if you decide to sell them.

Love to see them go to a good home once the BMW seats go in. NJ is a long way from WA.

Hey Onur
Would you please check on tan vinyl too! I am interested in this for the back of my 74.
Apologies for the hijack!
Thanks
Peter

No way I can touch a tan flooring. I can guarantee no one else can as well. At least not in North America.

Give Akella (Yan) a PM and see if he can assist.

I betcha it's discontinued worldwide. Toyota doesn't keep tan around very long.

Onur, Will a HZJ79 vinyl floor mat work in a 74 Series or are they totally different?

That's what I am actually looking into Charles for Ward. The part number is live. I am just having a hard time procuring it currently.

I think the front will work for a fact. The 2nd row is the problem. I don't think it will work considering the 2nd row of a 79 is different than the 74.

The 7x series bodies have actually not changed very much from the early 1980's through the late 1990's.

I doubt it's long enough for the second row but it might be a viable option for the front.
