Newby Question Du Jour

Working on sanitizing the interior and came across these holes in the rear corner uprights, up near the top by the FRP roof mounting point. Five holes on each side - appear to be home to a trim piece - something that fell off decades ago.

Hopefully not critical, but I'm a curious guy. Can someone clue me in what goes/went in these positions? Photos appreciated. I did try the online parts schematics and listings, to no avail.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think mine has anything right there. That may have been added. Mine should be back from the body shop this weekend and I can look.

Mine does not have that either but the PO put a plastic puck type piece in that area?? Probably some custom rack at one point..

Pic of mine. Turns out the pucks are not exactly in the corner but not OEM..
Sorry for the crappy photos but you get the idea..

As you can see in this photo there are a line of vertical rivets but that still doesn't explain your holes.

Found some other residual holes that suggest that PO did, in fact, fabricate some form of storage or security cover between back of rear seat, rear corners of bed and the roof. We're talking wood screws, door hinges, etc. I have also removed seemingly miles of speaker wire (or is it doorbell wire?) connected to who knows what, if anything. I can only speculate on form and function, maybe a mobile kitchen or veterinary clinic?

Perhaps something like this.....

With life getting in the way, the Burrito has not been feeling the love this week. Good news is that all the soft goods are out of the cabin except door cards. It is smelling MUCH better in there, and no rust or icky stuff except more bogus electrical work.

Also, I scored a set of the 16x7 steelies I had been planning on. Refurbished with fresh paint from an old-school truck parts shop in Seattle, Six Robblees. Kevin in the order group treated me right, $44/each.

For now, will run them with 1.5" spacers from JT/Just Differentials - home of Carl's awesome BJ 73 turbo. Also, for now, the 235/70R16 Cooper Discoverer AT/3s that were on it at purchase. Not macho, but brand new and lots of life left in them. The Euro spec spokers (16x6) will be available at some point. Great rims for the tall/skinny look.

Rubber Fetish

Well, vinyl fetish, actually.... Onur came through with some OEM mats for the front of the Burrito. Now searching for middle/rear mats.

Progress :bounce::bounce2:

Are you going to get this one dirty enough that you need to hose it out?

Good, it had better at Rubicon 2015, I hear stock trucks do awesome there!

What is the backspace on those wheels?

I see 3.5" on my tape measure. Could be a little off, will remeasure with better lighting.

3.5 inch backspace does not require a spacer.

Dan -
I think I misunderstood your question to be about the OEM spokers from the 73 - those measure 3.5"

The black take-offs measure slightly over 4.5"
