If I admit up front about being lazy can I get a pass? I am trying to order the summit pan that seems to be the go to item for the LS swap. Can anyone point me to the correct posting or the actual part number?
Thanks in advance,
David

It is the H3 oil pan that you are looking for, can also use a camero pan as well. Unfortunately cannot pull up dropbox on work network, but look in the spreadsheet and I believe that I have it noted in there. Also there should be a note for the place that Cam bought it cheaper than Summit.

@FJ60Cam , reviving an old thread here as I need a new oil pan. It seemed to me from my research that the H3 oil pan wasn't much thinner on the front end than the stock oil pan. Am I missing something? I cracked the stock oil pan (from '06 Tahoe, L59) on the pinion ring, and I know you, @NCFJ, and others recommend the hot rod/hummer oil pan but from what I can see they're about the same depth in the first three to four inches (towards the front of the truck) which is where I'm having impact.

I need to decide asap which oil pan to order and I was leaning toward the F-body oil pan but they're not easy to source and they're well over $100 more than the H3 pan to get everything with it. Please let me know what I'm missing here...

Thanks!

The F Body pan is thinner in the first 3-4 inches for sure. I had contact with the sump though.

I did have a slight contact with the front of the H3 pan, but put bumpstop extensions as the final solution.

Thanks for the quick insight. Everyone's positioning is slightly different, I suppose; I think the sump will be fine but I need that clearance near the front. May have to ultimately do the bumpstops, I guess...

Thanks for the inputs, guys. I had seen the websites with the various dimensions, but not many of them show a really good measurement for the Hummer pan. I ended up ordering NCFJ's Hot Rod pan (P/N 12624621), which in the measurements I saw on a couple of sites shows a much thinner front end. We'll see soon enough if I got the right thing. Will let y'all know.

How did that pan work? How much clearance did you get?
do you got a lift?

Further thread revival.
I have an oil leak on my 5.3 from the oil pan. While I don’t *need* an H3 pan, I do have incidental contact with stock oil level sensor and my driveshaft. I figured as long as I was dropping the pan I might as well gain some clearance.

I just got my H3 oil pan from rockauto for my LM7(standard truck 5.3). It didn’t come with a pickup. I’m guessing this thing requires an H3 pickup, but I thought I’d ask the crowd source? Hoping to swap them in couple weeks, so I’m trying to get the parts ordered ahead of time.

I dont know the part numbers, but this kit comes with it all. H3 pan, dipstick, pickup. Maybe this part number can be distilled out to get the unique part numbers
