Yeah, I know "Lost World Expedition" is an ostentatious name. That is what we were going for. We do not take ourselves as seriously as the name of our "trip" may imply. All we are doing is driving back roads and trails around the U.S. and then through Central and South America for a year and a half, but we wanted to have a cool name, t-shirts, and stickers.... so we did.

We moved "into" the 60 on July 18th 2009. Here is our home and how far it has come along:

I will be posting as we go and as requested about specifics... please feel free to contact us here, on our website or Facebook

Nice. Thanks for sharing.

What gauge pod did you use? I know there was a group buy awhile back and there are a lot of choices but It would be nice to see what you used.

Very nice ... Still got your 2F ? I know someone who could use it ....

Luis, great pics and website brah !!!
I met yah at SnT last year.. yah were cooking the cerdito !!

I'll follow yah up on your adventure as I am curious about the CA to SA part of your trip...

Disfrutaló !!

We changed the 3.7 gear ratio to 4.11's because we are eventually going to install 33" BFG AT's... While we were doing the front we re-packed and replaced whatever we could...

Here is the truck in Lynchmob's state of the art garage (driveway:D)

I can't remember, Chris (lynchmob) actually did the purchase... I will ask him.

Sorry, 2F sold a while ago.

I remember meeting you at SnT Frank. I am surprised I remember anything... specially while I was cooking the pig.

I checked out your website, nice trip. I hope you follow our trip and then do it yourself...

Very cool rig. Got to see it first hand when initial 12HT install was taking place. Hope you enjoy your travels and if you make it back up to Portland look me up.

howd did you like the rotors, im thinking maybe a good combination with the 4runner calibers

Yeah, where did you find the rotors. Noticed they're made in Australia. I like that.

Is your 12HT 12v or 24v? I'm putting a 12H-T into my FJ60 and was wondering about the glow screen hook up. My 12H-T was 24v but I'm converting it to 12v so that it meshes with my FJ60 12v system. The only part that I can't get is a 12v glow screen. The 12H-T is nice, I was looking at the chart for when it was automatically operated and I don't think it came on until it was below 32* F.

NICE i LIKE THE BRAKES

Very cool, I'll be hitting you up for more info and the cost of your transplant when it comes time for mine.

As for your RTT. I'm looking at the same one. How do you like it? I spoke to Fernando in FL and told him I wanted to order the whole shooting match. He stated he could get it to me within 6 days of placing the order. RTT, rack, ladder, awning (may go with a hannibal or ARB), and changing room for around $2300.
Great build, keep us informed.

you are correct in the operating range. You can operate it on the 12V system just fine but be prepared to put in at least a 70amp relay as the system will draw 60 amps on 12V. Just put in a momentary switch/ push button in for the glow screen and wire in the relay. you probably won't use it much till it's in the 20's for extended periods.

Nice!

What did you do for your tach (something I still haven't resolved)? And did you abandon your old oil pressure gauge?

I got a really good deal on the rotors from the guys at TLC. I think MAF sells them as well.

Hi Ducks, my 12HT came from an Aussie 61 so it is 12volt, sorry I can't help...

We used a stock console from an Aussie HJ61, so I believe it was pretty straightforward install. The stock oil pressure gauge does not work so Chris installed an aftermarket one on the pillar pod...

For the transplant and the engine contact Chris (lynchmob here in MUD), he is the man... really.
As far as the RTT: I really like the MyWay, but I almost find it too large for just my girlfriend and myself. I almost miss my old Campinglab tent (the small model). I do not where you are located, but we are driving around the U.S. for the next month or so... if you want to see the tent we could meet up somewhere (if you are on the way:D).

Here is a pic of the tent open at Gila National Forest last week

In picture number six....did you paint the front axle hub housing? (the one that's painted black) or did you powder coat it?

Thanks!

Where are you at now?

Nice build up, where are you at these days? Would love to see the truck in person.

AWESOME!! I have been on a few expeditions and you are doing it right. I just aquired a 1983 BJ 60. I am doing basically the same thing as you! My dog Daisy and I are currently in St.Augustine Florida and by thanksgiving we will be in Southern Pines N.C. visiting my cool cousin Cassie. Then on to Kanab Utah, home of DOG TOWN, where we are taking my beloved Spot's ashes, she passed away on xmas last year.
Then after that We'll be heading to Moab to meet some other off roaders and spend the new year out in the back country with Bill Burck and his wife. Check out Bill Burck's 4x4 expeditions. You should try and reserve a spot with them and join us, we can compare our 60's.
Anyway I must run so ttfn. Good to know there are others out there that are "livin' the high road life"...
