Sorry to hear that :( Any insurance coverage?

That must have been a serious flash flood.

It hurts just to see what was lost.

Ouch!

Looks like lovely country. I keep on saying one day a visit is in order.

Man, that's really a terrible loss! I'm sorry. I hope you have some kind of insurance.

There was some comments in Afrikaans under the pictures. Maybe NamibCruiser can translate it for us.

I hope everyone was ok

Hi all!

Thanks Dave for posting the pics!

Both cars were insured but at this stage there is still no final answer from the insurance. The 100 got water almost every where but the Prado did not even get water in the engine and no dents nothing. Can you believe it! Lost some headlights and spots and the interior is just so full of mud. The guy who recovered it says its weighing about 5 tons.

Luckily we are all alive and well. Had my 3 year old daughter with us and when help finally arrived we had to walk for about 6km in the river bed carrying her on our shoulders because of the mud that was very slippery and sometimes up to our knees. Had to buy new clothes and shoes the next day!

Check this LR site for some more flash flood disasters http://www.overland.co.za/accidents.html

And for those of you who want to come and visit, we have it all and even the fishing and hunting is good.

Regards
