I have lost fuel pressure in my 92 Land Cruiser and cannot figure it out. I got it out of the shop after cleaning up some wiring issues. It would start but just didn’t want to go. After I got it back, it drove great for a little over a month and then died while my son was driving it.
So far I have replaced the fuel pump, replace the fuel filter. When you turn on the key, you cannot hear the fuel pump. When I use the jumper in the diagnostic port, you can hear the fuel pump.

I enjoy doing all the work I can on this vehicle, but I’m more of a body guy. I’m great at the cosmetic stuff, but I need help with the mechanical side. What do you guys think?

The fuel pump does not fire with the key in the ON/RUN position unless you jump the terminals in the diagnostic connector.
The fuel pump fires when you crank the starter, and when the flap in the AFM opens.

Are you certain that this is a fuel pressure issue? I ask because you stated that you can get the fuel pump to run. If the fuel pump is running, then you have fuel pressure unless there is a severe blockage in the line. Even if the FPR was faulty, there should still be pressure in the fuel rail.

How did you diagnose the issue?
There is a section on fuel pressure and fuel pump operation in the FSM.

I have a gauge in the cold start injector. No pressure at all there. I thought ai should hear the pump kick on with key in accessory mode, but I must be wrong. I have not replaced FPR. If not fuel pressure, then what else?

If it is not a fuel pressure issue, what do you think it could be? I feel like there has been some sort of issue all along, but now it doesn't run at all.
Have you gone through the steps outlined in the FSM?

I think I got the fuel pressure situation fixed. Cleaned up some electrical, flushed fuel lines, etc. Starts and runs, but slow to start. You seem to be the guru on this so hoping you can help me figure the next step.

This is copied from my FB post on a cruiser group. Kind of long, but I think it is all related. I think the previous owner had work done and it was not put back properly. I think they were mechanically inclined enough to make it work...

After looking pictures the group sent me, diagrams and the bonnet under the hood... I don't think some my hoses are in the right spot. Here are the culprits:

Picture 1: where does the line in red go to? (The yellow cap is from the edge delete I did 3 years ago.)

Picture 2: Vacuum line coming from Intake. Where does this line in red go? Furtherest back and currently has a bolt stuck in it ( not by me).

Picture 3: The VCV valve. You can see the thicker vacuum hose that goes to the vapor canister (green), which I just replaced with the VC120. The red circles show where 3 other lines should go and currently have nothing...

Picture 4: Distributor cap. The diagrams I have seen look like a line goes into this, but where is it coming from?

I replied to one of your other posts, but keep all ignition components OEM on this engine. The 3FE will simply spit out what it doesn't like, and it doesn't like aftermarket ignition parts.

There is invaluable information in the Toyota FSM and EWD. Those 2 documents should be your PRIMARY resource before asking questions here and especially before turning to the knuckleheads on Facebook.

This is a pushrod tractor motor. The FSM recommends a valve adjustment every 24K miles. If yours haven't been adjusted in 32 years, it might be time to look into it.

Purchase OEM parts from your favorite local Toyota dealer, or an online Toyota dealer, or our friends in Dubai.
