is there any way to tighten the rear view mirror?
it is loose on the ball of the arm, it will move when flipping the switch for night time glare, it moves quite easily.
it doesn't move when driving down the road,
2000 LC stock arm and mirror, no electronics in or on mirror

If I remember correctly, there is a set screw to tighten it up. They tend to come loose after a while.

up inside the mirror housing? under the lever?

Pull big single screw, dropping mirow out windshield mount. Inside windshield mount, are two small JIS phillips head screws. Tight these two screws. Issues is the phillips head screws, more than another screw. Needs JIS, to not damage head and get a good grip.

If windshields been replaced, these are usually lose and phillips head damaged. With use of a good JIS screwdriver, they'll still tighten.

With JIS, they can be over tighten, Which can break, a low end windshield. So take care.

Is there a solution for the damaged Philips? Mine is shot, and if I’m unscrewing it, it isn’t going back in.

maybe I'm missing it but I don't see how to tighten the socket and ball connection
looks like the plastic pieces of the socket are broke missing thus not being tight to hold the ball
is the only option to replace?

Yeah, looks busted. If looseness in ball, replacement may be only option.

Most times, it's the two little micro philips JIS screws, you can see now with mirror & arm removed.

If it shaking at the ball you need to replace it. If it is shaking at the windshield you can tighten up the screws that mount to the plate on the windshield. It is not like the old ones with the little phillips screw that you could tighten to adjust the adjust-ability.
