Hi everyone! I’m trying to track down a working wiper motor for my 1981 Toyota pickup (third-gen Hilux). I know these parts can be hard to find since they’re specific to the 1979-1983 models. I’ve checked places like eBay and RockAuto but haven’t had much luck yet. Does anyone know of a good source, or maybe have one they’d be willing to sell? Any advice or leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can you share a picture? I would not be surprised if the motor off a 1984+ truck could be swapped over.

it literally takes less time to actually do 30 seconds of internet research than it does to build an account to get spoon fed.
not trying to be rude. just saying. it's pretty obvious you did zero actual searching.

I'm back to what I said before. I suspect you could remove the motor from the bracket and use the motor from a newer truck. Here is a stock picture of a windshield motor from a 1985. Check your local boneyards. I would not be surprised if just about any motor from a Toyota would work.

Interesting that would save a some money which is always good I’ll see when I have a chance to go searching. Do you know if for example a 5 prong round connection is possible/easy to convert to my connection?

I have no clue what you have now. I suspect it would be possible after a study of the wire diagram.

None of the ones I have clicked on have been my connection so I might have to give it a shot gonna do some more research 👍

Give me the wire colors off your motor.

Could an alternator/starter repair shop possibly rebuild your original?

Any reason you cannot rebuild the one you have? I went through mine and had it all apart. They do not seem to be complicated. I guess the last statement is relative to experience but just like alternators and starters they are not complicated.
