Any ideas? Anyone have one they want to unload?
Recommended sources?
For an '82 FJ60 upper rear hatch lock
I went to remove the lock to service it (clean it up - it had ceased to function) and when I pulled the assembly, the metal reinforcement in the rubber block that surrounds it was close to completely rusted out.

I suppose I could try to fab a replacement metal reinforcement flange and stick it in the existing rubber...

I'll check with American Toyota.
I found one source on-line that has them, and our local Toyota dealer has them, but it will take awhile to get it.

And, Butt, Kevin's stuff is great, but this isn't a weatherstrip issue, it's the rubber block OUTSIDE the hatch that surrounds the lock assembly (to keep it from getting beaten on, I guess).

And I figured a used one would be at least 20 years old.

Or you could leave it off. I removed mine a couple years ago for the same reason as you did. the lock button doesn't need the rubber block to operate.

I never knew this. I was planning on having one CNC'd out of a steel billet and just welding it in place and painting some bedliner over it. I might see how it looks just leaving it off now though...
