So a little after a year of ownership I began to get this like metal on metal rubbing sound from the passenger side - maybe passenger rear - hard to tell. When the truck is uneven on the right side, lets say that the driver side is higher and on pavement on the passenger side is lower and off-road, the truck sounds like the exhaust is coming off. Of course it doesnt happen all the time. Also, after city driving for a bit the hitting some bumps, more lateral move then an up and down, Ii get a high pitched squeak.... Ive removed the spare bc the dealer has told me its the wheel moving in the storage spot. That did not make a difference - I still hear the noises when the spare is removed. Its locked tight in place and the chain is also secured.
In trying to still figure this out, over the weekend I pushed the car from right below the side roof rack to rock it and heard this loud squeaking from the engine compartment - different noise from above. Guessing shock related. So I called the dealer to ask them some question on lubing , etc during services - I now have about45k miles and up to date. They told ne they lube the car according to the manual but would not provide me with a list or the like. In looking in the maintenance book I saw no where under normal maintenance where any lubing is called for. Am I missing something? Can anyone put up a schedule on what's lubed, etc. for me? Or tell me where to look? All I see in the maintenance log is to lube the propeller shaft.
I also called a Lexus dealer to see if I could have them take a stab at it. They said they would not service a Toyota - only Lexus.
