It looks mighty crusty to me. Looks like somebody did a maaco job over rust a few years ago and the evil is coming out. Gotta be rust under the diamond plate. I wonder what the frame looks like? We need more pics fo sho.

Just wait for this one.

That one has been for sale for a long time (maybe something's wrong with it or too high on price?). It was for sale before the summer so idk I'm a little hesitant. My dad just lost his assistant at work too so i don't know how much traveling we'll be able to do especially around the holidays cause it's the busiest time for my dad at work and we've got a lot of family stuff coming up as well. I'll look into it though and try to get some more pictures.

My parents also pitched a surprising idea at me. Bear with me on what I'm about to say cause I really don't know what to think about it. They said that I could get one for 1k-2500 right now and bring it home and then they would give me money to use to work on it and fix it up as I go along (what would've been used to pay for one up front) so it would eventually equal out just as if we bought one for say 5-8k (other than I might be using a little more to fix one up right off the bat). Plus I would be using the money from my job that I'm getting eventually. This wouldn't be a total frame off restoration down to every nut and bolt if I go this route (cause I don't have that skill, time,or money right now) but it would be more of a fix what needs to be fixed and do it as I go. In the meantime while doing this they said I could drive my dads truck and he could drive this other car we have in the family to save him on gas money. I don't know what to do though cause I don't want to buy a basket case (I think I know what to stay away from, but this does sound like a fun possibly father/son type project thing and a different route to go) but it would be interesting to go this way. I know there's unlimited resources for help on here and from ya'll and there are many sources for parts so it is doable. What do y'all think? Would I be taking a step backwards if I went this route and would I be in over my head or what? If it proved too much then couldn't I part it out and make a few bucks? Let me know.

I don't think it would be a step in the wrong direction at all. You would get to know your rig and know what exactly is and is not fixed etc. Plus by time you are done you would have great knowledge on cruisers and got some father/son bonding in.

Personally its what I would suggest and have to many people in the past.

This will teach you an appreciation for the truck and get you well versed in it.

look at the price of an aqualu tub so it will give you an understanding on price points to look at.

74 on mud as we speak here in Florence sc. Pretty good ride but may be worth it

Florence isn't that far. It'll take you 2 hrs from Charlotte. I saw that one on here and thought about you Brysen. It is definitely rough around the edges but would make a great project. You should check it out.

So went to look at this 75 in Trinity NC. I'm really considering buying it but there's a big issue with the title. This is where I need y'all's help cause I don't know much about it.

-1) the owner said he lost the title in the ad but had the previous owners info but didnt know how to get into contact with him (what does this mean?)

-2) I asked him if he ever had it registered in nc and he told me no, but he ran a dealer plate on it (again what does this mean)

-3) if its still with the previous owner before the current owner, what do I need to do?

-4) what should I do? Will I be able to get a title or find the title or get it titled?

Please let me know. Thanks the help is appreciated more than you know.

Will have to pay for a title search. Not sure after that what's next.

Yes dmv. If he knows the previous owner and you can get ahold of them you can apply for a lost title. Either way it is gonna be a hassle. Cost wise i don't think its that spendy just aggrevating.

As long as there's a way for me to get it titled and on the road "legally" in my name then I'll do whatever it takes cause I really want to make this work out. I'll go through the hassle as long as I've got my 40 haha. Any other suggestions, ideas, comments, concerns?
