Let me know what scope you got and from where. I need this tool for figuring out low voltage signals that a DVM can't capture or show historical values. I'm thinking a battery operated two channel scope will do me but I haven't used one since my college days!

This company has lots of them uScope Basic Kit - https://www.aeswave.com/uScope-Basic-Kit-p9621.html and of course, Amazon has tons of them as well.

Thanks.

Since you mentioned historical values, I'll mention that I have looked a little bit into something sort of related and thought that at least some, maybe many, of the current crop of amateur digital scopes are not great tools to record longer duration events as in minutes or hours. Seemed that a data logger might be a better way to go for that. Of course, if you need to see something very fast, then, yes, a digital scope is what you want.

I just need something not uber complicated with a ton of options or buttons/knobs. Merely need one to troubleshoot signals to the ECU, in the hopes of understanding if my MAF sensor is still on par or has it drifted some.

I’ve used the little JYEtech DSO-150 single channel $22 solder it yourself kit for the last 5-7 years or so, it’s a genuine unit I got from banggood and runs off a 9V battery. The single channel is somewhat limiting for other projects though, or seeing how things change in relation to each other. (Like if you wanted to see injector pulse width vs throttle position or MAF reading, or maybe MAF vs throttle position).

I see they now have the WAVE2 (same thing but dual channel and touchscreen, which is awesome for easier navigation) for $75 fully assembled on their AliExpress store which is very tempting. I like the DSO-150 (and now wave2) because it’s a nice handheld package compared to a lot of the other cheap ones that are basically just a bundle of boards.

can you please share a link? Thanks.

Here’s the wave2:

And their aliexpress store, it’s $75 rather than $93 on their normal store:

looking at the product video, it looks like there is also a cable you can get for hooking up to a computer to see analyze it there.

thank you sir!
