At the first unofficial meeting PYRO aka RHINO unveiled the first draft. At that time everyone present thought we were on the right track. Since then it seems we have changed directions.

Things for consideration –
>There is a Copper State 4wheeler club in Mesa already. My thoughts are that we might want to put more on the CSC part.
>The more colors we use the higher the printing cost are. (Shirts and stickers)
>A little less information on the logo might promote more outside interest like “What the hell is CSC”
>There has been a lot of talk about being more than a 4WD club (road closure issues, clean ups, adopt a road, exploration outing, and different level of off-roading. Are we looking to become a 4WD club or an off-roading origination?
>There are people in the group that have the knowledge, understanding, resources, and the ability to deal with the political and legal challenges we can face in making a difference.

A special thanks to desertdude for his outstanding abilities and contributions to the sticker quest.

Criticism welcome and expected :flipoff2:

Phil

phil i hear ya loud and clear, and i agree completely. i love the designs DD has been popping out lately but i think they will just be too much when it comes time for "stuff".
i like mine (of course) i also like the first couple roundies DD did with the flag in them as well as the black/gold oval. i think the logo should be simple and uncluttered, we can get real creative with T's for specific runs, gatherings, clean ups et cetera....

I think CSC should take a poll.

Sound like some whining going on :'(. Personally, I don't give a crap what the cost is for what I'm gonna buy, as I don't really plan on ordering in bulk to supply a T-shirt shop :flipoff2: I like the way the logo is looking as of the last stuff DD did on the LWWG thread. That is interesting; so what if it's got lots of stuff going on, you actually think someone would wonder what the Copper State Cruisers are less than CSC? In all actuality, I don't think that matters, as long as the people in the club know what they're about, if you get my meaning ::) Look at what's going on in an NRA sticker, or something like that, lots of stuff. If you want to go simple and cost efficient, I don't see why we shouldn't just make an all white sticker with CSC in black. And as far as you guys having a vote down in Phx. for what the sticker should be, ain't even fair to anyone in the rest of the state, who really can't drive all the way to Phx. on a Wed. evening for a beer and a sticker vote. If that's the case, or consensus, you guys just might as well can the club name and start over with something like, Phoenix Cruisers, or Valley of the Sun Cruisers, something which caters more to the situation. >:(
My vote is for the newest one DD has put out 8), or either some people start coming up with some other ideas, since we really only have about 3 to choose from.

I actually like both but my prefferance is for what DD has been doing/coming up with. I also think that we should have plenty to choose from. I'm sure DD would be more than happy to work on refining the Pyro emblem also. DD has been more than gracious with his time in this whole thing.

Rush,
I agree with you on the point that this has always been an Arizona club and not a Phoenix club. I feel that the inclusion of wheelers from all over the state is terribly important. Those members should all have a voice... period. This tool (the internet) has allowed people who would've never known each other under any other circumstances, to unite and potentially make a difference in our hobby. I like what's been going on here and I think everyone should get involved in what we're planning.

Throw those opinions out there and we'll get it worked out over time. Multiple "Logo's" to choose from and maybe even multiple flags to fly. I think it's all good so far.

rush i think you may have missed the point,, first the simpler logo has nothing to do with cost. $15-20 for a good sticker is fine with me and im sure phil feels the same way. no,, the simpler design is for the "glance factor" for a sticker or logo you want ppl to see the whole thing on a quick look, save the elaborate designs, colors and deatail for things like T's when ppl can actually look and appreciate it.
also the vote,,, it doesnt mean we need a show of hands over a beer, instead it would be a poll on this board, vote for your logo and you shall be heard.

i like a simpler logo just for a sticker on the rig, a 5" round would be awsome. the more elaborate stuff would be best on merchandise.

my vote for a logo is for the latter that DD has done, its cool, looks great and describes us well. put it on T's and other merchandise, but for the fender sticker lets do a simpler one, like maybe the first one DD did with the flag in it and just simple words.

rush wasnt it you who said a while ago, we can have more than just ONE logo??

i actually have an idea that i may end up doing on my own if "the group" doesnt want it. i like long sleeve T's, i would like my CSC on the front breast, just the CSC w/o anything else, on the back will be the latest version from DD real big and down the sleeves will simply be "copperstate cruisers".

Well I may have missed YOUR point Pyro, but I think I brought up a few worth mentioning. I'm sorry for going so ape over the subject, but I have my reason, which just arrived to me in a meditative moment of silence. In all reality I don't really care what sticker we end up with, but I tend to naturally levitate to that work in which it's obvious alot of time and though went into. Pyro, no offense to your artistic ability (none taken of course ;) ) but I can't see you have spending more than 10 minutes coming up with your logo. DD on the other hand has been taking feedback for a couple of weeks from the lot of us for the ones he's been working on. And out of the two or three weeks of adjustments and feedback, I think we have two that really fit the bill. If a few people don't like those, it's fine, we can just keep coming up with more, which we really should be, considering we've only really been chattin' here for what, 2, 3 months? I think getting locked into anything at this point is premature. Maybe we ought to give ourselves another 6 months or something to get all of the ideas in and accounted for, then do a vote. Seem fair? Sh*t, I haven't even been able to submit one yet, and I'm almost a professional artist! :D

Sorry but I love this thing!

no offense to your artistic ability (none taken of course ) but I can't see you have spending more than 10 minutes coming up with your logo.

boy i would be offended if i had spent that much time on it :D

my logo, and a few others i have drawn, were actually things i had done years ago for a duall sport motorbike club i started, i simply adjusted that to CSC, i have several other real good things you guys might like.
i have no scanner and very limited computer skills, but i will re-do some for copperstate and get them posted for you guys to look at.

I would like to first thank everyone here for allowing me to jump in and throw out my ideas so freely. It has been fun for me to virtually be a part of this project start-up.My intentions are pure, offering my time and talent to this collective effort. I am not attached to the out come, and could change directions ( logo wise) in a heart beat.
That being said, a logo that visually says what a club represents in a timeless, classic way is important. Especially, if down the road the club is to be taken seriously across the table from any issues of importance.
If I may be so bold... For me personally it is more than wheeling. It is about being a part of a respectful organization that can accomplish great things in the years ahead. Trail clean up, charity fund raising, 4X4 awareness and safety, keeping trails opened, and rescue missions.
I think Pyro got the whole ball rolling with his great sketch, without his ideas I would not have even started... We should wait to see what other logo ideas surface in the next month or two, we have plenty of time to build this club into a strong alliance.

OK.... I am getting off the soap box and hanging back by the campfire :D

PS I think the last logo of the bunch I made is a keeper ;)

Another thing to think about too, is that our particular logo which will be voted on, should appear on everything that has to do with the club. Like even though there may be shirts or coffee mugs or flyers or stickers with different and various artwork and design, this logo should be on everything. Not neccassarily in your face , but at least in a corner, off to the side or whatever, for the sake of continuity. Kind of the way the WWF logo (actually WWE), the little thin scraggly lines like lightning bolts are all over every bit of merchandise. And we should keep it there for an alloted time period, say 5 years or something, until the next logo election. How does this sound? At one time I thought it would be fine for just all kinds of logo stickers, but then it just seems too loose of an affiliation. So I take back what I said concerning that, and now back the idea for a centralized type logo :slap: Anyone got ideas concerning this?

OK, here's something else, something I thought of just a few minutes ago in the shower :o In order to really get some participation going in this logo/sticker deal, everyone on the board as of now, should submit at least one logo idea by say, July 1st:o After that we vote, have that particular one made into the stickers. Upon recieving the sticker/s in person, those who did NOT submit a logo should be subject to bizarre alcoholic torture, i.e. 1 (one) shot of Food City's cheapest, most bottom shelved Gin  Ehhh?
