I’m looking at a 2010 200 for sale that has around 120k miles, that I could get for the low 20s. I think it’s a deal

The carfax says the previous owner had the radiator replaced twice. It had two minor front end collisions on front left, but doesn’t seem to relate to radiator replacement. Radiator replaced in 2019 and 2021 and the engine power train module was checked at Toyota dealer before it was sold to said dealer in 2022.

It’s not the cleanest, but I think it’s rust free and I can clean it up some.

Or is it hiding many horrors?

The original radiator swap makes sense.. nearly every US 200 built before late 2018 got the old design which has a well-known design issue. It is plausible that if this vehicle's first swap was done in early 19 it got the old part as a replacement while they went through old stock.. what doesn't make sense is needing another radiator in 2021. Even if it wasn't the updated design, it should easily last more than a couple years. It is possible they stuck a cheap aftermarket unit in there and it went bad.. but personally? Given the state of the rest of the vehicle and needing a radiator twice? IMO the odds that thermal damage was done is too great for me to feel comfortable taking a risk with this one. But that's me.

So it was sold to said dealer in 2022.. what has gone on with it since then?

Looks like first was replaced not at dealership, but second happened at Toyota dealer.

Looks like general maintenance at local dealer up until late last year at 109,000 miles and now it has 120,****

You can easily buy a detector for the coolant system that will change color if there is exhaust gas in the coolant.
If that is clean, I wouldn’t be worried about warps head.

Looks rough for the miles in those pics (Dings, nasty carpet, etc) I'd try and get it as cheap as possible. Similar better cared for trucks with a little more mileage (~180k) are popping up sub 20k now.

I don’t think it’s a deal. Rough body and interior indicate an owner who didn’t care. 2 radiators in only 15K miles indicate the possibility of overheating. 2 front end collisions indicate a careful look is needed at that left front. Too many indications for me to say it’s a deal at any price. If you proceed, pay for a really thorough PP(, with all the bells and whistles.

agreed

Lots of scratches and a few dents, filthy carpeting... Ya I agree that shows neglect. If it's been at this dealer since '22, it's probably been used as a loaner.

There are better ones out there, unless you can really get the price down.
