So we are bam smack a doodle in the middle of a birf job on Texus's LX and of course on a Sunday we run into a problem...One fawked up kunckle trunion bearing its a Koyo P/N 30304AJR-2-N. Its his DD so we would like to have it complete tonight for work in the morning at 5:30AM or else I have to be driver for a day. Anyone in the PA NJ DE MD area within an hour or so of West Chester, Coatesville, Kennett Square, PA got an extra? If so please call 484-643-0209 and you will be greatly rewarded!

Thanks

Got 3 good ones in my garage but I am in South Dakota...........................

Don't rule out finding one at a big auto parts store in your area. Read them the part number off the edge and the MFR and they'll cross reference it.

Good luck with this, I was looking for the trunion bearings for my 40. I called every local auto parts store in Denver, IIRC 2 could order the bearings, none others could even order them, didn't show them in any computer or cross-reference at all.

In Denver? For a 40?

Timken part# 30303D, stocked all over SLC.

Not sure what the generic part# of the Koyo one is, all I stock is the Koyo one.

Wish I were closer...

Gee, too bad no one called me today when I was down there. Was about 1/2 hour away and I have spares in the truck.

Damn it Junk...when you going to get a mobile IH8MUD connection in that cruiser? Wish I would have known as we had to call it a night without that bearing What's your number anyway as we know who to call next time we are in a jam. We'll have to link up sometime...

Cheers to all!

This is precisely why I tell people they need to get them and change them during this process.

Hell, I even did this to myself once.....:flipoff2: NEVER AGAIN will I open up knuckles without trunion bearings on the bench, waiting to go into the game.

Before I tore into my birfs I thought I would send them back for sure and save $70+-. Once inside I noticed one was suspect so I put the rest in. You would think they would last forever???????? I understand how a wheel bearing wears out but the trunions?

Fawk...I completely forgot that I am a member of the CAC! Never had to use it and only really think of it on road trips....dumdumdum...

Tex....sushi will be a good START towards getting me back....

I just cleaned up my wheel and trunion bearings left over from a birf job over a year ago. I noticed that the trunion bearing races had equally spaced discoloration lines around the inner circumferance of the race. I assumed it was lines from where the rollers bear the weight of the vehicle with the wheels pointing straight ahead. I may try to take a picture and see what you all think, if for any reason it is a point of interest for anyone to do some speculating.

Rookie2

Edit: Couldn't get a good picture because of the glare, but did take a closer look. The lines I see appear to actually be the unscared/untravelled portion of the race. The portion in between appears to have a slight degree of abrasion where the rollers are traveling over. These trunion bearings had 75k on them.

Also if you were at least on your local TLCA club's email list (although preferably a member) you'd have access to immediate local help. ;)
