Never seen them, but really don't get the point, maybe just to be consistent with their other axles? Why would they make 27 spline, would be significantly weaker than stock?

I don't know; you would have to ask them. Maybe it is because you can run the stock axle shafts with the 27s, while you need new ones that come in a set with the 30s?

How would you do that, mini truck shafts? To my knowledge, no '80 ever had 27 splines? The stock '80 axle doesn't neck down, the 24 spline birf end is about the same size as the 30 spline diff end. They don't break like the earlier shafts did.

I never bothered to count the splines, but it doesn't make sense to make a smaller shaft end than stock.

The standard kit is still 765, the 30/30 is 865$. I'm not sure how much the nitro 30/30 kit is though

I can count pretty good, so I now see that the stock ones are 24 splines while the big ones are 30. Sorry for the confusion, but the gist of the claim is the same: They offer a stock replacement birf and a 30 spline version that requires new shafts.
