I’m wondering what your thoughts are on this.

I have a 200 that I’m going to be selling. I also have a Gen 2.5 Tundra that my son is buying. I’m going to buy a 2025 Tacoma. I’m leaning towards long box.

Please tell me what your preference is and why.

Long box would not fit in my driveway. The short box 4-door barely fits. These trucks are already a big truck. I could not imaging adding another foot and trying to park this thing.

The 2025 four door Taco with the 6 foot box has a wheelbase about the same as my 2014 Tundra Crewmax, which has a 5’ box, I think.

It would be too cramped in my garage was one of the reasons I didnt go that route. Maybe a non factor for you

The Tacoma isnt as nimble as the 200. I know hard to believe. I find myself making multiple attempts to get straight in parking spaces in parking lots. The 200 never gave me that issue. Maybe its justme.

If you plan on wheeling it, the 6ft bed will make it harder

Does the 6 ft bed reduce the weight capacity of the Tacoma? I don't know the answer to that.

Do you need the longer bed for stuff up there in Wyoming? Would the shorter bed work for you? I think those are the key questions

I think a 200 with a Tacoma are the perfect set, but everyone is different :)

The Tacoma does not have the towing capicity as your 200 nor the v8 power. It is a personal preference though.

Not just you. The turning radius is much worse than the 200. The 4th gen is even worse than the 3rd gen for some reason. Adding another foot to the wheel base would make it really bad.

I experianced that turning radius issue on a shelf road when we hit a snow bank today on Argentine. Thankful for the cameras that helped me back down quite a ways.

You should update your signature to show the Taaco :)

Maybe not apples to apples? My 4 door long bed Tacoma 4 x 4 was a 2006 model. TRD Sport with tow package. Everything everyone says about the long vs short bed is accurate though.

I wanted the long bed because I needed it for my priority of use. I hauled stuff, had a shell for my dogs and camping and it towed my camper well. If I just wanted a general purpose run around town pickup, it would be a short bed.
