I see that the registration is closed... any chance I can still sneak in for thursday and friday? Thanks!

Registration is not closed, not sure where you see that.

REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE 9/9/16. After 9/9/16, all those who have not already registered will need to register on-site.

SWEET!

Also, still looking for two more trail leaders. Easy1 on Friday and Saturday!!

any THURSDAYERS?

Just paid. I'm fired up to finally get to participate in this event. In the past work event and/or family have conflicted.

I'm a total noob to this...4x4... i hope to get there in the AM in time for the Easy1 or Easy2 run, but in case I can't get a full day-pass, is there anyone who could assist/teach/lead an easy trail run in the afternoon?

Except for YouTube/mud learning, I have no idea what my truck(fj60) is capable of, but excited to learn 1st hand! of course the inexperienced driver will likely be the limiting factor, not the machine!

Here's my non-camper readiness checklist: 1st aid kit, tire pressure x 5, check all brakes, tools, fix drawer latch, fluids/spares, gas, bug spray, camera, cooler, snacks, directions, singles for tickets...

Make sure that anything you carry in the truck, on the trail, is lashed down. Go to the club web site and look over the check list for your truck.

Im curious as well how technical the easy course is. I have limited wheeling experience, and I would be running a stock 100 on new 33 inch BFG's. Thanks!

Stock 100 on stock tires would be sufficient for the easy trails at Uwharrie.

Just registered! Will be there with the family.

Quick question - Is this open to non-members? My dad has a heep and would probably love to come, if I asked him.

Like Stan said, everybody should look here for vehicle inspection requirements. Page one is mandatory for inclusion in the organized rides. Page two is the list of items that are looked at, if present. FSR handheld radios are acceptable for this event. I think the club still has some fire extinguishers that will be made available for on site purchase. @GLTHFJ60?

The easy trails will be fine for you @joyRidaz and @tacoduck, unless they are wet. The red clay really changes when it's wet. Just remember that a heavy right foot is not the way to drive in the dirt. Ask your trail leader how they think you should proceed for your skill level - 2WD, 4HI, 4LO, etc.

I'm sure there will be people who prefer to sleep in and ride in the afternoon instead. We'll also ask that one of the Easy leaders plan a stop at one of the trailhead parking lots to allow latecomers to meet up at a designated time.

Don't forget to go to the Eldorado Outpost for a trail pass and map (*) BEFORE arriving at the Group Camp. The free maps are usually on the wall by the door and are also often near the register. It's roughly a 15 drive between the two places if you have to go back. Trail groups will NOT wait for you to go get a pass, and none of the trailheads are close to the Outpost, so you can't pick one up on the way to the trail. You can buy passes for as many days as you need all at one time.

*Each driver's registration pack will include a standard letter-sized laminated map, but some people might prefer to also carry the large fold out map from the NFS that they can mark up with a pen.

We'll look forward to meeting you! Your dad is welcome to attend, but each vehicle will have to purchase a Driver registration; he can't be included as your passenger if he intends to bring a vehicle. It will also have to meet the vehicle inspection requirements. See my post above for the link, if you haven't already checked it out. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Great! I'll see if he is able to make it.

Yes sir, CBs and fire extinguishers will be for sale at the registration tent.

Jeeps have successfully been able to complete the easy trails in the past, some with little and even no damage ..... the 100 will be fine. :D

FWIW if you fail inspection, you may be unwelcome to ride in our TLCA APPROVED groups. but we cannot prevent you from riding the trails on your own, all you need is a trail pass from the outpost. but there are reasons to be so equipped

To clarify, if anyone fails inspection, they will be unwelcome from riding to drive the truck that failed inspection with any Logan's Run official trail ride groups.
