Lifting for 37'' Swampers

Hey u blokes i hav bought a set of 37'' Swamper Boggers an was wondering has anyone got 37s on an wat sort of lift was needed to fit them on my 81 model 60 series, i bought it but havent seen it yet only photos.. it has a 2'' body lift an big springs, it has 35'' Baja Claws on it now and still looks like there is plenty of room. Any help would be appreciated

37s are kind of big for a 60. would probably look good but the higher you go to clear the tires the more tippsy it will become.remember you are lifting 5000 pounds of truck and these trucks are prone to rollovers in certain circumstances. just my opinion though.

is it an hj or fj?
there were a few threads around about this size tire, you may want to go with a little less back spacing to give you a wider footprint for the extra height.

You'll probably want to either elongate the front fender openings or cut out the lower rear portion of the wheelwell. The tires will probably hit at the lower rear part of the opening.

I have close to the same setup as you. SUA, 3" body lift, 3" lift springs & 37" MTR tires.

The wheel well opening is stretched so the tires don't hit the fenders.
My tires were also getting chewed up by the radiator support mount brackets in the front under extreme articulation. I removed the mounts and 3" body lift spacers and made new mounts with higher mounting surface w/o the body lift spacers.

You could always avoid the fender trimming, etc by going SOA.

A SOA, hysteer and a cut & turn would set you straight.

you cant SOA in australia unless its off road only, 37's arent approved for on highway use for a 60 series there either.

Fair dinkum u blokes know your stuff ay, its a HJ60, im a learner wat is soa? and is cut and turn your way of saying a spring over? As far as i know the wheel arch has been played with to gain a bit extra room, the boggers are sold as a 37'' tyre but the bloke in the shop says it actually works out a 36''.... im thinkin hub spacers to gain the extra foootprint, and yeah thanks for the replies fellas,
1 more thing, I used to have a 12ht engine in my last 60series, it was a ripper, beats 2006 model utes and wagons, but i blew it up...... they are expensive motors so im thinking for around the same price i can get a 15B turbo cummins, has anyone had experience??

SOA=Spring Over Axle (Sprung)
SUA=Spring Under Axle (Sprung)

Cut and turn is a process where one cuts the ends of the axle housing that holds the knuckle assembly off, rotate them then re-weld. This operation corrects the pinion angle and the horizontal plane of the steering arch (Chamber?-Caster?) and re-aligns the shock mounts

Just FYI, my Heystee Automotive Parabolic 100MM set up would likely fit your selected tire size with your 2" body lift. The kit apparently isn't available to the public just yet but when it is I HIGHLY reccomend it. It rides like an 80 series.

lived in OZ for 5 months and in NZ for 7 months, the have alot stricter guidelines and have to get vehicles inspected after change of ownership and every year or so (if i remember correctly)
There is a limit on high high a suspension and body lift you can install. There is also a limit on tire size, i believe your only alowed about 10% over stock, so 35's is pushing it but alot of aussies get away with it.
If you go SOA (spring over axle) my understanding is that it wont pass when you go for inspection.

In OZ they will fail inspection for things like rust on frame or body even, my cruiser down under, would probally get me a big heap of tickets and pulled off the road.

lifting for 37"

I see that some of you have a body lift. What kind of issues did you encounter with a body lift? I have a 85 FJ 60 with heavy OME suspension. Thanks

I dont have any pics to share but my 62 is cut out for a 38 with my current setup, i took out a lot of sheet metal. Its not bad though, just a lot of spot welding.

LOL Who the hell is advertising? I don't live in the Netherlands, I don't work for Heystee, I don't sell the product. Thanks to Woody I got lucky enough to get the opportunity to install one and do a write up (coming soon.) The question at hand is what lift will fit 37's. This one will do so with some body trimming or a body lift. Would you prefer I just say that the lift on my Fj62 will fit them and then somebody will ask what it is and where I got it? Or should I stick with answering all the questions right away?

So yeah, answering questions with to the point correct responses is quite normal for 'Mud. I also run BFG tires, BDS shocks, GMB joints, Koyo bearings and use Lucas grease on my wheel bearings. That doesn't mean I'm representing them.

Sheesh, you make me feel like a cheap telemarketer.
