I’m wanting to put about a 2 inch lift on my GX. All of the different options and opinions are overwhelming. I know that some comfort is sacrificed for performance, but what’s a good complete setup for mainly daily driving and a little off road use?

And I know I can off road with stock ride height but I really like the look of a mild lift.

I own a 2013 base model.

Thank you for any inputs!

I just installed a Bilstein 6112 (heavy) and 5160 combo on my 2015 (6112s on the first clip). 2" of front lift and drives SO much better than the stock 150k suspension (no surprise). I need to put a lift spring in back and am going back and forth between the Bilstein B12 1" or 1 1/2" rear springs.

I have had a base level 2” Dobinsons lift on my 2013 for a little over 60k miles. I ordered it from Apache offroad. It has been to N. Georgia countless times, the ozarks and Colorado and Moab. It has served me well.

Thank you I just checked it out. What size coil did you use in the back to make it level? I don’t have any additional weight on mine and I don’t plan to add any right now.

It was a little bit of a simpler ordering process when I got mine 3 or so years ago, they didn’t have all the options. I went with the medium weight which at the time was around 100 lbs. due to a sleeping platform/drawer system I built. Mine definitely still has a little rake. Pic for reference.

Regarding shocks, avoid performance shocks that have to be rebuilt every 15,000 miles or so, read: Fox, Icon, etc. Usually they'll be with external reservoirs.
I had Icon's for about 7 years and every couple years I was building them at hundreds of dollars for each one.
I just redid my entire suspension with Old Man Emu shocks, from UCA and front springs. My Icon UCA was done.

Ironman if you want to spend money. a lot of people use Bilstein 5100’s as a budget setup but they don't in front lift without preload. Dobinsons makes a nice 2” setup. All three of those are no maintenance. Ome also great and no maintenance I think.

I have 6112s (heavy) on mine too. My ride is much better now too.

I went with a Dobinsons IMS, 2" lift on my 2017. Have about 50k miles on it and haven't had to touch it. I purchased from Exit Off-Road. They recommended the medium weight springs (352/327) for my setup (CBI front bumper, sliders, aluminum skids, and a yet-to-install winch). The ride is noticeably firmer than stock and there is much less wallowing. Also went with the Dobinsons upper control arms. I would skip the KDSS spacer kit, but would get the Dr KDSS front bracket kit and the bolt-on track bar correction kit. I get out a few times a year on moderate/intermediate trails.

I have had 2 Tundras and the 2020 4runner with the 6112 and have really liked them. I did find the 4runner to be a little bouncier riding than the Tundras on road. I'll prolly just do the 0.9" on the 6112s on the front, as much as I want to do full Dobinson 2". Going to just drive it for a while first :)

Mine are the heavy springs. I have full skids and sliders too but not sure what ring I set them at. My truck does nose dive but it did that before too. It is just a lot smoother overall.
