Re: less sensitivity with the smart card. Turns out, it wasn't an antenna or card problem. It was the drivers door lock actuator going bad. When it finally gave out after some temperature changes, I changed the actuator and have not had any more issues. A little slow in response than other Toyotas I've owned, but no slower than the original key fob.

Looking into this for our '16 as we've misplaced one of our FOBs.

Planning on using the part number suggested: 89904-53512

Key blank part # seems to be NLA. 69515-50220

Anyone have an updated part number for the wallet fob key blank?

Thanks.

I also ordered 89904-53512 and programmed it using Techstream (works great; thanks to OP!)
I ordered key blank 69515-30350 from McGeorge, had it cut locally and it works (fits nicely in credit card fob and unlocks the door)

(2016 LC)

Thanks JBS. And Bamma for the original post. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Now if we could find someone to 3D print a Toyota version that would help alleviate some of my OCD about the Lexus logo.
I don't mind the logo, because if I ever need to take it out of my wallet, I can avert my eyes. I got mine programmed by my dealer for free while I was getting some other elective surgery done ($$).

I just wanted to add my experience. I ordered and programmed the key card and it works. However, I am finding myself going back to my original key fob more and more. My key card has horrible sensitivity. There are times I have to take my wallet out of my pocket and hold it next to the door. Its a cool product and I like the idea but it just doesn't work as well as the regular fob. I also missed the buttons occasionally

Please note that you cannot program it for 2020 LC.

I see that Lexus advertises that the 2020 LX570 has a wallet credit card key. Not sure what the part number is, but I'm guessing it might work on the 20 LC.

I have noticed this too. Definitely less sensitive / shorter range than the standard fob. But that inconvenience still doesn’t outweigh the benefit of the extra pocket space for me. It also took me a little while to get used to manually locking (by touching the door handle) before walking away (since there are no remote buttons)

Agree with the shorter range and that the benefits are worth it. One of my credit cards is metal rather than plastic and if on the same side of my bifold wallet as the key card then sensitivity is shot to hell. I make sure that card is on the other side. The only thing I miss from the fob is the remote rear hatch open button.

I ordered the key and card. Programmed today in less than 5 mins. It works. Now I need to get the dealer to cut the physical key.
Note: the part # for the key has changed from the earlier posts. Here are the part numbers I used for my 2018 LC.

Trying to program a wallet fob but there’s no “utility” option in the smart key menu. Tech stream version 13.00.022. Anyone have this issue?
From memory, I think I had the same question and believe it's under a different menu - smart key programming or something like that. I can't look at it right now.

Resolved. I was able to follow these specific instructions explicitly and it connected with full access.

***What ended up working***
1. Installed Techstream
2. Installed X-Horse MVCI driver software.
3. Swapped the Main.exe hack file.
4. Turned on TS and entered Location, User, etc...but did not activated it.
5. I went to my car, opened TS, then plugged in ODB and USB. Windows automatically prompted for the cable driver to install.
6. Clicked on "connect to vehicle", TS popped up and asked for the key. I then entered the key and it activated.
7. Pressed continue and the USB connected to ECU. It recognized my car model, year, vin number, etc.
8. When TS entered the SYSTEM SELECTION menu, everything was there (ie. Health Check, Customization, etc.).

Thanks to @Beyondby4 for posting here: (post 28) Help Can't get Techstream to function

Weird thing is I had used this before with full access on my 100 series. Not sure what changed but I did a full re-install with the directions above and it worked.

Anyone able to figure out how to install the card key on the 2020? Just got a new Heritage and trying to add the card. TechStream works fine, recognizes the existing key, but it doesn’t appear to recognize the card? I have the 14CBB new and unlocked and just won’t recognize it? I have been trying to see if the 2020 LX570 changed as well but I have been unable to verify if they changed the part #. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

2020 key is different than 19 and prior. There is a new Lexus cc key for 2020, but I don't know the part number.
