Guys this has been a hell of a day ! Even writing this and sharing is not easy. Fot the last 13 and a half years this has been my Freind and a major part of my life Zip she is a female Alsatian Shepherd. For the last few weeks she has been having alot of problems walking we have been to the Vet and for awhile she was doing better in the last 2 days she is really having alot harder time getting around.
Over 13 years ago I was driving over to see my wife wendy I thought I saw someone throwing a bag of trash out of there car  It turned out to be this beautiful Black Shepherd, I was driving my Cruiser at the time and picked her up and brought her home. Since that time where ever I go she goes. Camping, the Parts store you name it

s***, i hate these threads but can't stay away...
i feel your pain everytime i have to put one of my friends down.

sorry for your loss (i usually end up with another friend within a month)

:frown:Hey buddy, be strong, your doing the right thing.

If anybody has been around Rob and Zip you know that it takes some work to get between Zip and Rob.

:frown:

 Good on ya for rescuing her and  to the good times!

I get tears just reading and seeing this... can't give any advice because I've never been through it with my own dog as an adult. Hard enough to go through as a kid and it feels kinda like a brother or sister, now they feel more like our actual children. Tough stuff to deal with.

Hey I remember seeing that last pic before.

Sorry you have to let her go. Just gotta remember it's better to say goodbye than to postpone it and let her suffer.

A dog will never let you down. That's what makes them so hard to let go of. If you know you're doing the right thing, then that's what's best. Hard times for sure. Peace and best wishes!!!! :frown:

Really sorry to read this, my thoughts are with both you and your friend. I've been there myself it is terrible but the good times greatly outnumber the bad times. Again, I'm really sorry.

Sorry to hear, Rob.

:frown:

Life goes on, though...

Kind of like me and my Mickey dog. She was a chow mix. She spent many years with me in the cruiser. Had to put her down about 2 years ago. Still miss her.

My condolences, Rob. I know how hard it is to let go.

Damn Rob, that's a hard spot. :( Awesome of you rescue that pup, and the years of companionship. Condolences.
