Letting Go and Saying Goodbye

Ouch. Treasure the good times. One of the cruelest parts of life on Earth is that our dogs don't have the lifespan of humans. I still shed tears (but with a smile) for my lab who has been gone a long time. Sorry for the tough road, Rob.....

Just gave our mutt a bath, for the first time, she just walked into the shower with no argument. They are family and love us unconditionally. It's up to us to do right by them. A hard time for sure. Sending good vibes your way.

I want to Thank Everyone for your PM's and post ! We have had a wonderful run. Today we spent most of the day just driving around in the 40 something we both love. A trip to Mc Donalds for a couple of plain cheese burgers (something she always got after a long drive ) lunch down at the lakes. I am Greatful that I have had this chance to say goodbye alot of people dont.

Good on you, for giving your buddy such a fantastic life. It's so hard to let them go: having lost 4 dogs in 8 years, ain't no one way is easier.

Hardest thing I've had to do as an adult. I was blown away by the depth of the emotion. Hang in there.

Oh man, reading this post got my eyes wet.
My condolences, it sure is hard to lose a friend.
But give yourself time to mourn, don't try to get over
it too fast or it will just be harder to let go.
Then, when you are confident enough, get a new puppy
and give him/her all the love you can!

You did the right thing rescuing her, she looks beautiful in the pictures!

Guys Again Thank you !!!!!!!! Man I have never felt so lost. Reading these post has helped so much. Anyone who ever had the chance to meet or just be around Zip knows what a loving companion she was. On and Off the trail. I cant Thank you all enough for your support. We had some really Great times she got to see, smell, and hear things most Dogs never would during our adventures. She had a full Life and I am a better man for her being in mine. See you all on the trail
