anyone mount a light bar on or in place of the rear spoiler? Would love to see some pictures of some set ups.

If you have pictures please mention wattage and length as details.

Sorry not ones that are mounted on top racks.

Will the light bar handle the continuos opening and closing without falling off or loosening or even ruining the liftgate. What are your experiences.

I would like to mount a 30 inch LED in its place of the spoiler. It was pretty scary when your out in the middle of the woods/snow with the moon coming out without any lights.

Have the front light bar, under rock lights (as well as shoot out to the sides), but just have to think about the back.

Sure did. I love it.

I got tired of arriving at came late at night and trying to setup a 6 person tent with headlamps. I have a 72W lightbar mounted on the spoiler that points down. When we arrive at camp, I flip on the light and setup the tent.

BTW, I've been meaning to start a thread on unique additions to your vehicle. I have two lightbars installed in my ARB, one for driving and one for an offroad flood light.

Do you have any pictures of it mounted on the spoiler in the rear?

If I had a tire swing I probably would have mounted a bar on that but I took my OEM swing out off (it wasnt kicking it for the trails I travel, so I sold it)and built the "Philz" version of mounting the tire inside.

I used a set of these:

eBay item number:
201336703387

With 2 of these:

eBay item number:
380363966556

No drilling of the body was necessary

Ordered the quick disconnect connectors so they can be easily unwired.
Connectors are waterproof and cheap.

I do not have a picture of them on, but they are quite bright.

@jfz80........

Right On. Exactly what I was looking for. Looks pretty Bad A$$. Thanks!

This is the best picture I could find. I will take a better picture of the light bar when I get home.

This is the light bar I used.

It was $29 when I bought it. I purchased this for several reasons. It is low profile and fit between the mounts on the spoiler. With 72W, it was guaranteed to be bright enough. I didn't care so much about beam pattern since it would be pointed at the ground.

I will have to remove the lightbar soon and redo the mounts. The hardware that came with the light is starting to rust.

Should paint/coat those mounts!
Yeap. I think the manufacturer used crayons to color it. I also need to replace the rubber mounts. I tightened the bolts to tight and the rubber is starting to split.

That is a fantastic idea. i have the pfran backup lights but need light sometimes when loading stuff at night.

slightly off topic but has anyone put little light bars in the front turn signal spot? i have been thinking that might be next for me and move my turn signals to the corner lights. i could use a little more light but its not like i am high speed desert racing, i just need the deer to stand still :p

i was just about to remove my spoiler and then i saw this...great idea. a year later do you still like the install? what's the details on the roof rack - what mounts are you using on the drip rails?

Gamiviti 30/60 gutter mounts bolted to an ATV ramp from Cabelas. The rack was heavily modified but is all aluminum.

The lightbar has been great. I didn't seal it before installing it on the spoiler. It has some water in it. but all the LED's work. We've used it only a few times for setting up the tent in the dark but lots of times just backing up into a location where we can't see very well.

I just picked up an extra spoiler bar that I am going to cut or drill for light(s). I am very interested in how you ran the wiring.

Guess it depends on if/how/where you wheel? I have ripped the rear spoiler off,, twice, don't think extra weigh would help?:hillbilly:

anyone ever figure out the wiring on this?
