Anyone tried any of the inexpensive ebay options? Here's one:
LED MAP DOME LIGHT BULBS 03 04 05 TOYOTA CELICA GT GTS:eBay Motors (item 290330539640 end time Aug-09-09 16:12:03 PDT)

It's 31mm which will fit an 80. There's also the circuit board type available with more leds. Just looking for feedback. An increase in light would be nice but I'm more after lowering the current draw. (Yes, I know the option that's been available for some time and hate to point out potentially lower cost sources)

i have george's led's. they are they way to go, you can leave the lights on for a few days, probally even a couple weeks and still have battery to start your cruiser. plus they produce a lot more light.

I believe the quality ones regulate voltage better and last longer because of it. your standard 12v power has lots of little spikes because of the alt. here is a link to his stuff it is the way to go.https://forum.ih8mud.com/merchandise-storefront/257813-new-led-dome-modules.html

If you decide to go with the ebay please throw some pics up and let us know how it lasts.

I replaced all my interior lights from superbrightleds.com. The extra light is remarkable. I found out first hand about them when we were on an overnight club run and I was hanging out with a couple guys around the camp. One of the member in a 100 series had them in his trucks and it was very bright - also more of a bright white light.

And if you forget to close your door all the way amid all the camping fuss, you wont kill your battery.

nice source with great pricing. which did you end up going with? did you also do the map light?

Thanks for the link, MoJ! I liked the price and took the plunge, ordered 2. The map light is a different bulb, so somewhere else for that. I will report back after receipt of goods and install. I'd like to get the map light, too, 'cause that's the one I have trouble with leaving it on.

Yes, map light, 2 domes, 4 door lights. Took about 5 minutes to replace all of them.

Now my wife wants them for her Highlander...

MoJ,

I sourced my own luxeon LEDs (75 lumens), george's driver and copied his maplight. It works great!

80/100 dome light, quantity 2, high power 2-LED Festoon bulb $6.95 ea. (Options) Cool white 3022-CWHP2

80/100 door lights, quantity 4, WLED-X6 bulb $2.79 each. (Options) Cool white WLED-CW6

80 Map light, quantity 1, BA9S-XHP6-12V $4.95 each. (Options) Cool white BA9S-CWHP6.

The Optional Cool white adds a few cents more expensive. I went with these lights as I prefer the whiter, brighter looking light.

I have had the dome, and door lights now for over 2 years, the door lights I installed first (almost 3 years and one has burned off)

Do you have a pic of the 80 Map light installed?

Do you guys know what the ideal led is from superbrightled.com FOR THE FRONT CORNER PARKING/MARKER LIGHTS?

superbrightleds.com

Ordered the map light and 2 domes yesterday. Somehow they already arrived today via usps. Light output from the two domes is significantly improved. Didn't see a huge improvement from the map light.

Money well spent. Thanks for the link murf.

Just a note that superbrightled.com is not the same as superbrightleds.com

D'oh!
You want the latter.

I dont but will try in the next few days - are you looking for what the bulb looks like or the light produced? It might be hard if it is for trying to determine the brightness by the picture...

Just passing along information from LandcruiserPhil who hooked me up with them originally - credit goes to him

I am only looking for what the bulb looks like (model # would be great.) thanks.

the Map light part number from the website mentioned above is BA9S-CWHP6.

FWIW, I've compared the superbrightleds to George's LEDs in the 80 dome lights and there is no comparison. George's is much brighter; more expensive, but you're paying for the output and the voltage regulation.

The voltage reg is the key + you are sponsoring a MUD vendor!

Ordered up door lights, map light & dome lights from superbrightleds.com, and got them installed tonight. LOVE the brighter & crisper light from them - very happy.

Note to self: if you have a 93, you don't need to order the door lights, because well, 93's don't have door lights. :newb: Woops.
