The slee hi-lift tool is intentioned to help use the sliders as a lift point: Slee - Recovery Gear I suppose this is intended to work with their sliders but am unsure if it is appropriate to use the SROR sliders as a lift point.

4.5, the way it has always been. ;)

my drill my have wandered and i've changed my drill press cause i tweaked the shaft bad when a bit locked up on me.
i'm not sure how they were that far off when the plate bolts into this part of the jig.

i even drill the holes a bit larger than needed just cause of this.

anyway, a rat tail file and a bit o' patience will fix this.

sorry....

That doesn't look like the plate on the slider. The question remains is it still 4.5" on the slider plate?

bingo! it's not the plate.
when the holes are drilled the plates mount to the jig by these two bolts and are held there by the two bolts.
not sure how the holes on the sliders sent to you guys came out a 1/4" off.

YES jackson to answer your question, all the plates should be drilled 4.5"
would you like me to take a pic with plates bolted up on the jig?

:bang:

Jackson,

What Jim is saying here is that this is his jig so that he can mass produce many identical pieces without much thought. If the jig is off, then every piece made from it will be off. Jim, if the drill bit arbor was bent then it wouldn't it have destroyed the jig, or at the very least left a tell-tale-mark to that effect on the jig? IMO the plate in question, if it wasn't bolted down right, slid on the jig. That's my thought.

i drill the plates off the jig then bolt them to the jig.

not sure how it happened but i'll make sure no others go out that way.

I know it is a jig, and I know what it is for. However, we also know that at least 2 bad plates have been produced from this jig. Therefore the pic of jig really doesn't mean good plate at the end IMO.

Thanks for checking. I can sleep better now :)

Woohoo! They've arrived... My neighbor in Prescott is confirming it, but says there looks to be a package sitting outside my garage door big enough to be the sliders. Thanks Jim and Jackson.

Now for the "fun" part... :wrench::wrench::wrench::cool:

hey guys.
i have to put a couple sets that are 90% done on hold to work on my 60.
i have a real bad howling coming from who knows where.
i'm starting at the rear diff, then checking the front wheel bearings. :bang::bang::bang:

Hey Jim,

Just wondering if mine got the expanded metal welded on them and sent, or if I'm part of the ones on hold? Just let me know, so I know if I should be on the look out for them or not.

Thanks,
D

Sorry to hear. I just got through going through my front dif in January. The flange bearings went south. Here is the link to some pics of ZUK's work.

Thanks for the heads up on the sliders, the time frame is good too.

Take care!

Thanks for the updates Jim. This is the type of communication we want, simply let us know when there is a problem or delay.

Sorry to hear about your pinion bearings problem.

Thanks Jim!

I'll keep an eye out for them on Wednesday!

Good luck with the third.

swapping thirds are easy.
i'll be dropping down to 4.11s untill i can swap the 4.88s back in.

Hey Jackson,

Here are the pictures you asked for. I don't have easy access to measuring plates, sorry.

I will say that I see no way to mount it using the existing holes in the frame. All my plates look like they were made to be used like U-bolts. I don't know, but it seems to have worked for me.

The first two are the outer attachment and the third is from the inside. Let me know if you have any questions. Lord knows I do.
