Not sure where the best place to drop this news is, but it's with mixed emotions that I'd like to inform y'all that my time in the Low Country is coming a close, after 10 great years here. I've accepted a position in Denver and will be moving in the next few weeks. We're leaving a lot behind, but are very excited about the adventure that comes with a move and new city, the new job, and the chance to be closer to mountains, public 4x4 highways/biways, and family.

Oh no! Dang man, I'm sorry to hear it, but thrilled to hear of the news for you and your family! What will you be doing for work? Denver is a heck of a city, been there a few times and I find it difficult to leave... Even when it's freezing cold out.

Congrats, but sorry to see you go...don't be a stranger, we would love to hear about your adventures (wheeling or otherwise) while you're there.

I'm very sorry to see you leave Kyle, but it sounds like a good opportunity. Colorado is one of my favorite places (not so much Denver), so I know you'll love it. Post up some cool pics once you get out there.

BTW, who is going to bring the kale salad to our HAMOMs? :grinpimp:

Thanks for the kind words guys. I've poked around the Rising Sun 4x4 forums and they're not nearly as active as this board, so I'll hang around here as long as you'll let me.

@CharlestonG8R I took a position as the data & process analyst for the finance division of a bank that finances agribusiness / rural utilities. They've got some major Enterprise Information Management / BI / Analytics aspirations and hired me to help them execute.

@Beau Diddly I nominate the resident lib/hippy, @CharlestonG8R to take over my role as provider of leafy greens at the HAMOMS.

@collk22 do you have time for a brewery hop before you leave? Maybe we can get a quick group together to send you off in style. I mean, 10 years in the Low Country... You can't just up and leave anticlimactically!

Got the brand spanking new BFG KO2's mounted on the freshly painted brand spanking new steelies. Gonna look good!

Wow!! That is sharp! I like the look of tall skinnies on 40 & 50 series, but you hit a home-run with those. Now that I think of it, maybe you should go with tall skinnies, I'll trade a brush guard for the KO2s.

33x10.50's, so reasonably tall and skinny. I think Erik runs the same size. I really don't want it to be any taller, but with the lift, 31's just look too disproportionate.

We can get creative with that brush guard. I will have wrenches with me at GSMTR. Perhaps I can bring a guitar and sing while we blow it to pieces. A donation to the cruiser gods.

looks good Jeremy. Will it be ready for GSMTR??
You and Erik can do the easy trails together.

Thanks, David! Yeah, it should be ready... But I'd rather wheel the 80.

Also, Erik doesn't have a double trailer yet and I'm not quite up to driving 8 hours each way in the 40...

What kind of Bernie Sanders Hello Kitty talk is that? Sweet mother of Pearl, it's worse than I suspected. If you want your man card back, pull the top off of the 40, lay the windshield down, and drive that rig north like William Wallace taking the battle field. Leave your pink cooler home with your aroma therapy and load up with beer and red meat. There better not be one fruit, vegetable or boy band CD in that steel mule of a rig. You better show up with a wind burnt face, pulling off the interstate just long enough to cowboy kleenex the prius next to you in the turn lane.

A better question - will it be available for the Relic Run?

I'm looking for a 5th wheel trailer, but I'm not looking very hard....

When I first brought it to him, John thought he could have it ready for The Relic Run. Then he saw the wheel wells... I bought some replacement skins from CCOT and I can't say enough good things about CCOT's excellent customer service. The panels are very nicely made, heavier than stock gauge, and a steal for $160. But Relic Run is only 3 weeks away and John hasn't really scratched the surface with the body work... He is currently distracted by a rather demanding return customer. I'm hopeful, but I may have to just drive the 100 up and take a space in someone's passenger seat.

...which I why I said "available" Well, no matter, glad to hear that you have not thrown in the towel on the Run. John does nice work, and the I don't think that you can beat the price - even if you did it yourself (time is money). It might not be ready for a particular trip this spring, but you will be happier once John puts it back how you imagined it.

If my old truck is worthy, even though it won't have any rainbow-Bernie-Squatty-unicorn stickers, you can still ride the sissy trails with me...LOL

Agreed, John isn't the "half assing" type, so it will be ready when it's right. I don't mind. It's a lot of work so it will take time. I'm hopeful that it will make the relic run but I'm sort of expecting to bring the 100 at this point. Is anyone else from LCLC attending?

And I can get you some Bernie stickers, don't worry! Just let me know, I think my wife has a box full. I can also put some My Little Pony episodes on my iPad for your viewing pleasure. Happy to help!
