We’ll take a look at the timing and adjust as needed. The last I knew this work wasn’t supposed to be happening until mid-August but obviously things can change!

Hi guys... Just wanted to write a quick post letting you know I will be a first-timer to LCDC, coming from Mississippi with my wife and son, and we won't know another living soul there. So, I don't know how many of you are regulars, already know each other, are traveling with packs of friends, etc., etc., but if you don't mind, and you see some obvious noobs like walking around like lost puppies, please go out of your way to introduce yourselves. We'll be in the brand new, fully stock (except for KO2s), gray/terra 200 with no mods and a MS tag. Surely we won't be hard to find. So I look forward to meeting most of you, making a few new friends, and with a little luck, my wife will want to come back next year!

There is a good mixture of regulars and newbies...last year was my first and even being an introvert and with Covid restrictions I had a great time. Wife coming along this year for her first time. Great group of folks. Look for your colored rig but modded with "Bootup" LSU plates if you need some help.

This will be our first trip with the LCDC crew also, but from past 100 series events I can say everyone is usually very friendly. We are leaving a bit early to detour into Ouray, but I will keep an eye out for you enroute @Bullgump and @JRidge. Reach out if you need anything.

First time for my wife and I as well. Might be crazy but I’m planning to disperse camp the whole time we’re there. Any suggestions on where we can set up each night would be greatly appreciated.

If you can’t find any dispersed spot, my camping spot at amphitheater can accomodate extra tent for a small fee.

Something to convince the wife about Ouray. After a day on trail, soaking in Ouray Hot Spring is a must.

Welcome! There will be quite a few folks who are new to LCDC and I’d wager the majority have never met most others in person before…so no worries. :) People come from every corner of the US.

Awesome! I can’t wait to say hi. Glad you’re making the trip out.

Good news !! Sound like the road closure of US550 for next week have been postponed/delay.

On our way to our first LCDC! (in Pittsburgh, PA now) Finally. Had to cancel last year. Our schedule was again crazy (moving next month), and there was a good chance we would had to cancel again.

Planned to take our new 2021 HE, but ran out of time to get it ready - wanted at least to install sliders and skids.

So driving the 2015 which has skids/sliders already. The snag is I just found out the rear suspension is sagging and we are hitting bump stops more than we should. Surprised me since only recently we went on a 2000 mile trip with similar amount of load and while I could feel extra load it wasn't too objectionable. Unloaded the truck was perfectly normal. Carrying wife, two teenagers and some camping gear. Nothing crazy. I suppose the rear springs reached the too tired point though the truck has only 71k miles.

Will go light on trail as much possible so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue - also signed up for easier LCDC trails anyway.

We will arrive in Moab Tuesday and stay there until the event. Have this thought, a long shot, but maybe there is someone in the area who has low mileage stock springs taking shelf space? I would try to find a shop where I could get them installed before the event and for our return trip.

I might call Slee and see if they can help. Perhaps I should just throw on some Old Emu springs anyway.

If you are coming thru Champaign, Illinois on your way out, I have a set of OEM springs for a 2019 I could let you have.

If you are looking for a shop near Ouray, you can try Rockworx 4x4 in Montrose. They helped me out during the last LCDC in Ouray 2 years ago.

I know the odds of this are about zero, but just in case….

I have a 200 OEM gas tank skid that I could bring to LCDC if anyone needs/wants it. Just PM me.

Glad the traffic south of Ouray has been resolved

Reminder those traveling west on Highway 50 from Denver or elsewhere there are big closures during the week. This is between Gunnison and Montrose. Looks fully open on weekend for traveling home on Sunday

Suggested detour is I-70 to Grand Junction and then south or go farther south than 50 and head to Durango then North to Ouray. We will be taking I-70 theere and back on Highway 50. I like the drive by Blue Canyon Mesa. First time I drove by it I was amazed as I lived in Colorado all my life and didnt know we had a lake that big here

If anyone is interested, I'll be giving away cabin filter warning decals at LCDC. Just introduce yourself, and I'm happy to give you one.

Look for the skinny bald guy accompanied by his family and a dachshund. I'll also put one of the decals on the back window of my black 2010 LC so you'll know it's me. I'll be on Corkscrew, Imogene, and Clear Lake, in that order, as well as at the evening events.

If any of you Heritage Edition guys need a set of factory running boards, I have a set in very good condition (with all hardware) I can bring along and let go cheap.

Brad
