LC200 Diesel D4D 4.5L engine knock

Hello gents,

After recent oil change and alternator change my engine started developing some nasty engine knock. Not sure what might be the reason. Please help me find the issue, maybe someone had this before. Many thanks in advance.

This comes from right side in the front. When it is cold and hot. No codes in Tchstream, injector values are reasonable [see below]

Oil changes in 10k interwals.
Injector values: -0,5; 1,2; 0,3; -1,0; 0,1; 0,0; -0,4; -0,5

Interesting. Mine makes that sound since ever… thought it is normal.
Did you used a different oil than usual?

Nope, same as usual.

Thanks, will do. Do you have a name of this group, there seems to be plenty.

PS: car went to mechanics, we suspect a timing belt tensioner or serpentine tensioner.

UPDATE: timing belt tensioner needs to be replaced.

Maybe this video is not the best, but you will for sure hear a distinctive "different" knocking in front of your car. Standing straight ahead. Or put your hand on right front and you will have knocking vibrations.

This is not a usual V8 diesel ticking, it is very different.

thats the timing chain.. or you mean't timing chain tensioner and wrote serpentine instead?

Sounds normal to me
