LC or LX?

With said lifestyle, I would sell it and buy a LS430 with the Ultra Luxury Package. Without even the justification of inclement weather in God's waiting room, I would struggle to justify the 12 MPG.

Thank you for adding your thoughts .. .. .. the thunderstorms get pretty bad down here. (tropical storms)

The "mature seasoned drivers" that reside in the area have proven to me without a reasonable doubt that they absolutely have no idea how to drive.

I walked away from this 45mph collision with not time to apply the brakes. (last June)

I now sort of like the idea of sitting up higher in a larger/heavier vehicle. Next time I may not be so lucky.

I can deal with the 12 - 15.3 mpg.

If two drivers are sharing the vehicle, the memory seats in the LX might be a big benefit. It can take a while to readjust the seat without the memory.

Are you near a Lexus dealer? If not, I'd worry about getting the AHC services elsewhere. I have to drive 2.5 hours for that work.

To be fair, they are both the same car, we are just nick picking their differences. These are way better than most other cars on the street new or used.

The LS hit you?

It's OK to call someone old. It's also OK to tell someone they're a bad driver. Don't dance around the bush.

I owned the LS460 -

Lexus/Toyota are incredible vehicles.

The rear locker on the early LC was the ticket for me, but doesn't sound like the OP would need it. That being said I would have an LX for the road if I could.

Trying to figure out if the '99 LX has LSD in the rear?

I've heard rumor of that too, but I'm not sure if they all got it, or what year they did away with it. I'd guess they went away when ATRAC and VSC came about... but I'm really not sure.

I REALLY wanted a LC when searching last year, but, ended up with the LX. AHC has been a pleasant surprise. Love it.

I am really glad to hear it!
We just closed a deal on a '99 LX.
The idea of a 2" lift when you want it sounds pretty cool. My wife is barely 5'02", so it would have been a hard sell to get her a 100 and tell her I wanted to lift it.

Congrats! Post pics. You have a pig, too. Nice. Nice. Nice.

Congrats! Is this the one you drove for a week? Start a thread with pics!

Like several people on here, I have both. It's true, all the features of the LX are really nice, and make it worth the money. I just replaced all my accumulators because they were shot at 110k. Expensive, but the cloud like ride is back. If I could do it all over again, I'd probably find an LX instead of an LC because they're a little cheaper and easier to find. The nice features don't hurt. I love my current LC because I've done a lot of modifications to it. Stock for stock, LX is the clear choice.

It boils down to personal choice. I prefer the LC for 2 reasons

1- No offense to anyone, but I am not a fan of the front end of the Lexus with the 4 headlights. Odd because I love the GS look of the same era.
2- I can get all parts through Toyota. Lexus dealers do not have quite as good of discounts as Toyota dealers.

My wife's LS430 has more accouterments, but that is expected on a car. I purposely didn't get the UL on that because of the air suspension, that is 6 grand in parts when they go out. As I see it, the more electronic it is, the more things can break.

Of course, at the end of the day, as long as you can find one that is a good deal and with records, which badge it has is mute if it's taken care of.
